Serengeti South - Ndutu Area
You will be picked up from Arusha at 7:30 am, then depart to the Ndutu area in Serengeti South. Enjoy a full-day game drive viewing the great wildebeest migration. During lunchtime, your driver will set and prepare the table for a full, hot meal (soup, bread rolls, main dish and a fruit salad) followed by a glass of wine or tea/coffee. In the late afternoon, we return to the camp at Ngorongoro for dinner and our overnight stay.
Explore the range of different habitats that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes, and the world-famous Serengeti short grassplains. See great herds of wildebeest and zebra. During a short time frame around February, normally lasting for about 3 weeks, the majority of the wildebeest calve. The sea of grass provides little cover and the young are easy pickings for a variety of predators. Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd.

The park is well known for its healthy stock of other resident wildlife, particularly the "big five", named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters: Lion: the Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due in part to the abundance of prey species. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem. African Leopard: these reclusive predators are commonly seen around.
