You'll drive from the hotel in Moshi using 4x4 Land Cruisers/Land Rovers to Londrosi gate (2250m), which will take 1 hour for registration and payment to obtain a permit. Then, you'll drive back to the Lemosho starting point (2100m) for your climb. The climb through the rain forest is 6 km to Mti Mkubwa camp (Big Tree Camp) -2750m, which will take 3 hrs and the altitude gained is 650m. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the campsite.

Day 2
Mti Mkubwa Camp (Big tree) to Shira One Camp
Mti Mkubwa Camp (Big tree) to Shira One Camp
After breakfast, you'll continue hiking through the heath and moorland zone to Shira one camp (3500m), which will take 5-6 hours. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the campsite. The distance covered is 9km, and the altitude gained is 750m. This is the shortest walk, but very steep.

Day 3
Shira One Camp to Shira Two Camp
Shira One Camp to Shira Two Camp
After breakfast, you'll continue hiking through the heath and moorland to Shira Two campsites (3850m), which will take 3 hours. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the campsite. The distance covered is 4km, and the altitude gained is 350m. It's also a short walk but very steep too.
Drinking enough is crucial.

Day 4
Shira Two Camp to Baranco Camp
Shira Two Camp to Baranco Camp
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you'll start hiking to Barranco Camp (3940m) through Lava Tower (4600m) for acclimatizing. It takes 6 -7 hours with a picnic lunch. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Barranco Camp (3940m). Distance covered is 10.75km via Lava Tower, and altitude gained is 750m, then from Lava Tower to Barranco, the altitude gained is 660m.

Day 5
Baranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Baranco Camp to Karanga Camp
After breakfast, you'll start climbing Barranco walls (4250m) to Karanga Camp (4000m). You'll have a hot lunch, rest, and walk around to acclimate. It takes 3-4 hours. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp. DistCnce covered is 4.25km, and altitude gained is 250m. It's another short walk, but steep as well.

Day 6
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
After having breakfast at about 8:30 am, you'll continue hiking through the alpine desert to Barafu Camp at 4600m. It takes 3-4 hours, and the distance covered is 4.25km, and the altitude gained is 600m before you get hot lunch, rest, and wait for the toughest day ahead. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.

Day 7
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millenium Camp
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millenium Camp
After breakfast in the morning, you'll leave the camp and start the ascent to Uhuru Peak (5895 m). This day has the most stunning views of Mawenzi, the Kibo Saddle, and the plains below. You'll slowly wind your way up over the rocky outcrops and through the scree until we reach the rim of the crater. Then, you'll proceed until you reach the highest point, Uhuru Peak. It takes 6 to 7 hours to reach the summit. You'll spend a few minutes at Uhuru Peak, taking pictures, then you start to descend to Barafu camp, which takes about 3 or 4 hours for a rest and some food. Before you descend to Millennium Camp for dinner and overnight there, which will take another 3 hours to reach the Millennium Camping site.

Day 8
Millenium Camp to Mweka Camp
Millenium Camp to Mweka Camp
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will start to descend to Mweka Camp, which is around 3100 meters above sea level. The walk takes about 3 to 4 hours. Here, you walk from morland where nothing can hardly grow, to a thick forest which is called the montane forest. After reaching the camp, you will have dinner and sleep at the camping site.

Day 9
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
You'll walk after breakfast to Mweka Gate (1800m) through the rainforest for 3-4 hours. The distance covered is 9.1km, and the altitude lost is 1400m. You'll receive your award certificate if you have made it to the top, meet the vehicle and transfer in Moshi town, and at the end of the climb.
