Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

At 6:45 am, you will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi and transferred to Wilson Airport. The flight to Samburu takes off at 8:00 am. On arrival at the Samburu Airstrip, you are met at the airstrip and enjoy a game drive en route to Ashnil Samburu Camp. After lunch at the lodge, you'll have the early afternoon free, before going for an afternoon game drive, from 3:30 pm to dusk.

Samburu National Reserve is a wildlife haven on the banks of the ever-flowing Ewaso Ng’iro River with a scenic semiarid landscape. Here you will spot Africa’s big cats—lions, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard. Some animals are unique to this northern Kenya park: grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, kudu, and gerenuk. Also, it is here that Kamunyak, the lioness famous for adapting oryx calves, lived. You'll discover over 350 bird species, including Verreaux’s eagle, secretary bird, lilac-breasted roller, marabou stork, Somali ostrich, and others.

Samburu National Reserve

At 6:30 am, you will go for an early morning game drive in a safari vehicle with a pop-up roof for game viewing. Late breakfast will follow. Lunch will be provided at your lodge. You will spend the afternoon at leisure, until 3:30 pm, when you will go for your afternoon game drive until dusk.

Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Ashnil Samburu Camp.

Samburu to Masai Mara National Reserve via Nairobi

After breakfast at 7:30 am, you'll prepare for transfer to the airstrip from where you will depart to Masai Mara National Reserve at 9:15 am. You will arrive at 10:45 am and en route to Ashnil Mara Camp, you will enjoy a game drive. After lunch at the camp, you will relax at leisure until 3:30 pm when you set off for a game drive till dusk.

The Mara offers wildlife in abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopards, many kinds of antelopes and elephants. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeests and zebras from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savannah— lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures.

Masai Mara National Reserve

On this day, you will enjoy a morning game drive at 9:30 am and an afternoon game drive at 3:30 pm in the Masai Mara. The game-viewing activity will be broken by lunch at the camp at 1:00 pm.
OR
An optional balloon ride at an extra cost (USD500 per person). Normal pick-up is at 6:00 a.m. Take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a hot air balloon provided at extra cost. If you can spare the money, viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience.

At 6:30 am, you will enjoy an early morning game drive. You will return to the camp for breakfast.

Take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a hot-air balloon provided at an extra cost (USD 500 per person). The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild! If you can spare the money, viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience.

At 10:15 am, you will be transferred with a game drive en route to the airport for your flight to Nairobi, departing at 11:00 am. You will arrive at Wilson Airport in Nairobi at 12:15 hrs. Here, our driver guide will meet you and transfer you to your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
