Your driver will meet you at your hotel in Maun and then drive you to Planet Baobab (2 to 3 hours). You will hop into the open safari vehicle and drive across the vast grasslands, past the lonely baobab sentinels, to the cattle post where the quad bikes are stationed.
Along the way, your guide will explain the incredible adaptations of the species unique to the Kalahari Desert environment. You will meet some of the Kalahari’s most fascinating inhabitants, the meerkats. After your meerkat mission, pick up your quad bike from the cattle post and head into the magical Makgadikgadi. Enjoy breathtaking views of the sparkling salt pan extending as far as the eye can see!
Once at the camp, enjoy dinner cooked by your ever-talented guide. At the end of an action-packed day, snuggle up in your bedroll under the phenomenal Makgadikgadi skies, your very own star-spangled ceiling.

Travel back to Maun
Wake up to the Kalahari sun rising between your feet. Warm your hands on a mug of piping hot coffee and soak up the solitude. This morning, you’ll search for the stone tools that remain scattered on the surface of the salt pan. Your guide will give a comprehensive explanation of the manufacture of the tools and the evolution of man. Remember that these are not your property; throw them back from whence they came.
Jump back on the quad bike to explore the surrounding area in search of uniquely adapted desert species such as bat-eared foxes, springboks, and kori bustards. This will take approximately 40 minutes by quad bike back to the quad bike station (timings depend on what you see).
It’s time to get back in the vehicle and enjoy an hour’s game drive back to camp. Then, we'll head to Maun to say our final goodbyes and begin our journey back.
