Day 1

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative from Berngo Safaris and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. This lively town sits at the base of Mount Meru and serves as the main gateway to Tanzania’s famous northern safari parks.

After check-in, you will have time to relax and recover from your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy the lodge facilities or explore the surrounding area. In the evening, your safari guide will provide a short briefing about the upcoming adventure and the Great Migration experience. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Arusha.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, a scenic journey through local villages and open countryside. The park is famous for its ancient baobab trees and one of the largest elephant populations in northern Tanzania.

Upon entering the park, enjoy a game drive exploring its diverse landscapes where wildlife gathers around the Tarangire River. You may see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and several species of antelope. Lions and other predators are sometimes spotted resting in the tall grasses. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with an afternoon game drive. Later in the day, transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey toward Serengeti National Park through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands. Along the way you will pass beautiful landscapes, Maasai villages, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Ngorongoro area.

Upon entering the Serengeti, the environment opens into vast plains stretching endlessly across the horizon. Begin your first exciting game drive while heading to your lodge or tented camp. The Serengeti is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife including lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. Depending on the season, you may already begin to witness the Great Migration. Dinner and overnight in the Serengeti.

Day 4

Northern Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated to a full day exploring Serengeti National Park, focusing on the spectacular Great Migration. Millions of wildebeest, accompanied by zebras and gazelles, move across the Serengeti ecosystem in search of fresh grazing and water.

Your guide will take you to the best wildlife areas depending on the season and migration movement. Along the way you may see predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas following the herds. The early morning and late afternoon hours are particularly exciting as wildlife becomes more active. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park while surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Serengeti plains before continuing your afternoon game drive. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in the Northern Serengeti before beginning the journey back toward the Central Serengeti. Along the way you will continue spotting wildlife as you cross different parts of the Serengeti ecosystem.

The Serengeti’s rich biodiversity ensures excellent wildlife sightings throughout the journey. You may encounter large herds of herbivores, predators searching for prey, and many bird species.

Arrive in the Central Serengeti in the afternoon for dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.

Day 6

Ngorongoro Crater

Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Serengeti before departing toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife destinations.

The crater floor hosts an incredible concentration of wildlife including lions, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, and possibly the rare black rhinoceros. Enjoy a game drive across the crater floor with a picnic lunch near the hippo pool.

In the afternoon, ascend the crater and drive to the nearby town of Karatu for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. This beautiful park lies beneath the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment and is famous for its lush forests and diverse wildlife.

You may encounter elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras, and large troops of baboons along the park roads. Lake Manyara is also well known for its birdlife, including flamingos and pelicans along the lakeshore.

After the game drive, depart the park and drive back to Arusha or JRO Airport for your onward air transfer, marking the end of your unforgettable 7 Days Great Migration Safari.
