Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly met by your driver from Aglow Safaris and transferred to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. As part of this package, Aglow Safaris provides one night of complimentary accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, giving you a comfortable place to rest, refresh, and recover after your journey.

The hotel offers a relaxing environment where you can settle in, enjoy dinner at your leisure, and acclimatize to the local atmosphere. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to explore nearby surroundings or simply unwind at the hotel and prepare mentally for the adventure ahead.

In the evening, your professional mountain guide from Aglow Safaris will conduct a detailed pre-hike briefing and equipment check.

Kilimanjaro Hike (Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut)

After an early breakfast at your hotel, you will drive to Marangu Gate, the main entry point to Kilimanjaro National Park, where registration formalities are completed. The hike begins through a dense rainforest, with cool air and a shaded trail under towering trees. Along the way, you may encounter playful colobus monkeys and hear exotic birds echoing through the forest.

After approximately 3–4 hours of hiking, you will reach Mandara Hut at 2,720 meters. Here, you will rest and enjoy your packed or hot lunch while taking in the peaceful mountain environment. An optional short walk to Maundi Crater offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape and, on clear days, glimpses into Kenya. After lunch and rest, you begin your descent back to Marangu Gate, enjoying a different perspective of the rainforest. Upon arrival, you receive a certificate of participation before being transferred back to your hotel or airport.
