Your day begins with a convenient pickup from Moi International Airport, Mombasa, or alternatively from your hotel along the Diani or Mombasa coastline. By 11:00 AM, you’ll depart the coast and ascend into the cool, rolling highlands of Shimba Hills National Reserve.
Upon arrival, embark on an afternoon game drive through the reserve’s dense forests and open glades—home to elephants, giraffes, and the rare Sable Antelope. The drive leads you to Sheldrick Falls, a stunning 25-metre waterfall tucked deep within the rainforest. Accompanied by an armed ranger, enjoy a guided hike through lush vegetation, ending at the pool below the falls, where you may take a refreshing swim.
As the golden light softens, journey to Pengo Hill, one of Shimba’s highest viewpoints. Here, overlooking the endless savannah, you’ll witness a spectacular African sunset—with glimpses of Tsavo and, on clear days, Mount Kilimanjaro.
Your evening concludes at Shimba Green Eco-Lodge.

Day 2
Adventure and Transfer to Tsavo East

After an early breakfast at your Shimba Hills lodge, your guide and driver will be ready to whisk you away toward the next chapter of your adventure. Departing the misty rainforest behind, you’ll descend onto sun-drenched plains and enter Tsavo East National Park via Bachuma Gate.
The drive itself is a journey into wild contrast—lush green giving way to endless savannah, ancient baobabs dotting the horizon, and the famed red-dust elephants already stirring beneath the morning light.
After a brief stop for check-in and freshening up, the afternoon unveils a classic game drive through Tsavo’s vast, untamed theatre. Here, lions doze beneath acacia shade, zebras stripe the golden grass, and herds of elephant stir clouds of ochre dust. Your guide will navigate the network of wildlife-rich tracks, seeking out predators on the move and the quieter marvels—ostriches, oryx, and the elusive gerenuk.
As the sun softens, you’ll retreat to your Tsavo lodge or camp.

Day 3
Tsavo East to Coast

Your final day begins at 6:00 AM with an early morning game drive in Tsavo East—the golden hour when lions, leopards, and elephants emerge against the rising sun. You’ll explore wildlife-rich areas such as Aruba Dam, where herds gather at the water’s edge in the soft morning light.
By 8:30 AM, return to your lodge for a hearty breakfast overlooking the sweeping savannah. After check-out, you’ll begin your scenic drive back to the coast—a journey of approximately 4.5 to 6 hours, depending on whether you’re heading to Mombasa or Diani Beach.
You arrive mid-to-late afternoon, carrying with you the dust and wonder of the wild. At this point, you are free to choose: be dropped off at your preferred hotel along the coast, or transferred directly to the airport for your international departure. Either way, your safari ends exactly as you wish—seamlessly, comfortably, and unforgettable.
