Day 1

Your day starts with a flight from Zanzibar to Arusha airport early morning, our driver will pick you up at the airport to the hotel for freshening up before your adventure starts to Materuni waterfalls.

Trek through coffee farms to the stunning 80m Materuni Waterfall, swim in its natural pool, then experience authentic Chagga culture. Pick coffee cherries, learn traditional roasting methods, and enjoy a fresh brew with Kilimanjaro views.

Savor a farm-to-table lunch (mchicha, ugali) and taste homemade banana beer. This cultural adventure supports local communities and is just 1.5 hours from Arusha.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your adventure begins with breakfast at the hotel, Our driver will pick you up for a drive to Tarangire National Park (2 hours), famous for its diverse landscapes, ancient baobab trees, and the largest elephant population in Tanzania. Here, you’ll witness unique elephant family interactions. A game drive will follow, focusing on reported predator sightings (lions, cheetahs, leopards), while herbivores like giraffes, wildebeests, and zebras are abundant throughout the park.

Later, enjoy lunch at the Tarangire River picnic site, surrounded by stunning views and wildlife. Watch out for playful monkeys and baboons! After lunch, continue the game drive, exiting the park around 4:30 PM. We’ll then head to your campsite or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you’ll drive from Mto Wa Mbu to the Serengeti, a 6-hour journey (including stops) through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

You will stop at the Ngorongoro Crater and pause briefly at the gate and a viewpoint to admire the breathtaking vista of the crater (20 minutes).

You can have an optional stop at a Maasai village. You’ll have the chance to visit a Maasai village to explore the culture of this iconic community, historically known for their bravery and unique traditions like lion hunting and drinking raw animal blood. While many communities have faded, you can still learn about their fascinating heritage (duration: 20 - 45 minutes).
Note: This optional visit is not included in the tour price. Most clients opt out. The entrance fee is $10–20 USD.

Day 4

Serengeti NP to Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, embark on a morning game drive, spotting plenty of wildlife until the afternoon. You will return to the camp for lunch and packing. The drive from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater takes approximately 4 to 5 hours, depending on wildlife sightings and road conditions. This journey offers stunning views as you transition from the vast Serengeti plains to the lush highlands surrounding the crater. Along the way, you may spot wildlife near the roadside, and you’ll pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with its rolling hills and scenic landscapes. The drive concludes at the camp/lodge located near the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Note: Wildlife sightings can even occur at the campsite!

Day 5

After an early breakfast, we’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater at 6:15 AM for a thrilling game drive. The highlight of the day will be searching for the elusive black rhino, the hardest to spot in the crater, though most other animals are easier to find due to the crater’s compact floor. After lunch, we’ll continue the game drive before ascending the crater and returning to camp to pack.

This marks the final day of your adventure. After the game drive, our driver will take you to Arusha airport, concluding an unforgettable safari experience in Arusha. Then, you take off to Zanzibar, where your adventure with Safe Hands Safaris ends!

A paradise for bird enthusiasts, the park boasts countless species, including vibrant flamingos along the lakeshore. After an exciting morning, savor a scenic lakeside lunch, soaking in the tranquil views. Reenergized, continue your adventure, exploring the park’s diverse habitats from lush forests to sweeping grasslands and encountering more incredible wildlife.

As the day winds down, return to Arusha straight to the airport ready for flying back to Zanzibar.
