Day 1

Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by Our guide who will brief you about your journey ahead. From here, embark on a scenic drive southwest towards Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park known for its beautiful landscapes and rich wildlife diversity.

En route, enjoy the changing scenery—from bustling towns to rolling hills and traditional homesteads. Depending on your time of arrival, you’ll stop for lunch along the way before entering the park through the Nshara Gate.

Check in at your lodge and enjoy a short rest. In the late afternoon, head out for an evening game drive, a perfect opportunity to spot impalas, zebras, elands, buffaloes, and possibly leopards as they begin their nocturnal hunt. Lake Mburo is also home to Uganda’s only population of impalas and one of the few places you can spot plains zebras.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the calming sounds of the African wilderness.

Rise early for a morning game drive through the scenic landscapes of Lake Mburo National Park. This is the best time to catch wildlife while it's still active before the day heats up. Look out for zebras, impalas, topis, elands, buffaloes, and with luck, hyenas or leopards returning to their dens. The park’s unique mix of open savannah, acacia woodland, and wetlands makes for rewarding wildlife encounters and excellent photography. After the game drive, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and then check out.

Begin your journey southwest toward Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s most stunning and serene lakes, nestled in the highlands near the Rwandan border. The drive offers scenic views of rolling hills, terraced farms, and vibrant local communities. Arrive in the afternoon and settle into your lakeside lodge.

Start your morning with a peaceful exploration of Lake Bunyonyi—take a short boat ride to discover a few of its iconic islands, such as Punishment Island and Upside Down Island, while your guide shares the local legends and history that give the lake its mystique.

After the lake experience transfer to Bwindi, home of the endangered mountain gorillas. The scenic drive winds through lush hills, rural villages, and terraced farmlands, offering a glimpse into Uganda’s beautiful southwestern countryside.

Upon arrival in Bwindi, and depending on time and lodge location, you’ll engage in a Batwa cultural experience—a moving and educational visit with the indigenous Batwa pygmies, who once lived as forest hunter-gatherers. They will share their traditional dances, music, hunting techniques, and forest survival skills, giving you insight into their ancient way of life and the challenges they face today. Today is the highlight of your safari—an unforgettable encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority. You’ll then be assigned to a gorilla family group and led into the dense forest by experienced guides and trackers. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas, but the experience of coming face-to-face with these gentle giants in their natural habitat is truly life-changing. You’ll be allowed to spend one magical hour with them—watching them feed, groom, and interact in the heart of the jungle.

After the trek beginning your scenic transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey takes you through the beautiful highlands, with a gradual descent into the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Start your day with an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, the most wildlife-rich area of Queen Elizabeth. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, buffaloes, lions, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and if you’re lucky, a leopard or hyena on the move. The expansive plains offer excellent photography opportunities with dramatic backdrops.

In the afternoon, set out for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway that connects Lake George to Lake Edward. This is one of the highlights of the park, offering an up-close look at some of Africa’s highest concentration of hippos, along with crocodiles, buffaloes, and countless water birds such as African fish eagles, kingfishers, pelicans, and storks. The cruise is both scenic and packed with wildlife action.

As the day winds down, enjoy a tranquil evening sundowner at a scenic viewpoint—perhaps overlooking Lake Edward or the channel. Sip on a drink as you watch the sky explode in colors and the wilderness settle into night.

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe, bringing your safari adventure through Uganda’s wild landscapes to a close. The drive takes you through the picturesque countryside—passing villages, farms, and scenic hills.

Along the way, you’ll stop at the Uganda Equator Monument in Kayabwe, where the northern and southern hemispheres meet. Take time to pose for iconic photos, witness a Coriolis water experiment, and browse the vibrant local craft shops for souvenirs and handmade gifts.

Continue your drive to Entebbe, where you’ll either be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to Entebbe International Airport in time for your departure flight, depending on your travel schedule.

As your safari ends, you leave with unforgettable memories of Uganda’s rich wildlife, landscapes, and cultures.
