After breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic 5-hour drive (approximately 311 km) towards Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, a noteworthy stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary allows for a remarkable rhino tracking experience—one of the few places in Uganda to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
At Ziwa, you can explore the sanctuary on foot and observe southern white rhinos as they roam freely in a protected environment. This sanctuary is a haven for various bird species and offers opportunities for nature walks, making it a delightful experience for wildlife enthusiasts.

Day 2

On your second day, rise early for a morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. This park is renowned for its rich biodiversity, hosting 4 out of the 5 Big Five animals. Expect to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and various antelopes amidst the beautiful landscapes.
As the sun rises, keep your eyes peeled for nocturnal species returning to their hiding spots, while the early morning light provides excellent conditions for wildlife photography. Birdwatchers will be in their element as the park is home to a diverse range of avian species, including the majestic secretary bird and the striking black-chested snake eagle.
In the afternoon, take a relaxing boat cruise on the Nile River. Upon arrival in Fort Portal, engage with the local community to learn about their daily lives and participate in traditional coffee-making processes. This cultural interaction enriches your travel experience, providing a deeper understanding of the Ugandan way of life.

The trek typically lasts between 2 to 5 hours, allowing for a direct encounter with these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat. After the trek, you will have a short break before continuing your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

In the afternoon, embark on a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a 45 km-long waterway that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. This cruise is a fantastic way to see a variety of wildlife, including a large population of hippos and Nile crocodiles, while also enjoying views of numerous bird species along the banks.
Following your boat trip, you can engage in a short game drive along the channel track, relishing the rich wildlife and beautiful landscapes before heading back to your lodge for the evening.

The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 9 hours, depending on the gorilla group you are assigned to. You’ll have one hour to spend with the gorillas, capturing memories through photographs and observations.
Following your trek, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, where you can unwind and reflect on your extraordinary encounter with the gorillas.
