Day 1

Nairobi/Maasai Mara National Reserve

Nairobi/Maasai Mara National Reserve

Begin your adventure with an early morning drive to the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s last remaining wildlife havens. The Mara remains a place where animals roam freely in large numbers, just as they did centuries ago. As the northern extension of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Masai Mara is world-renowned for the Great Migration, when thousands of wildebeest and zebras, along with their predators, move across the savannah in a breathtaking display of survival and instinct.

Enjoy the scenic journey with brief stops along the way to take in Kenya’s beautiful landscapes. Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for a delicious lunch and some relaxation.

In the afternoon, head out on your first game drive, where you’ll be immersed in the natural beauty and incredible wildlife that make the Mara so iconic. Return to your camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay under the stars of the African sky.

Cheetahs are so accustomed to vehicles that they may seek shade beneath them or even climb atop for a better view of prey.

Bird lovers will be thrilled by nearly 500 bird species, including eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures, storks, and the majestic Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird.
