Welcome to Tanzania! Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your friendly safari guide who will escort you to your accommodation in Arusha, a charming city nestled at the foot of Mount Meru.

Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the local markets, visit a nearby coffee plantation, or simply relax and enjoy the tropical garden surroundings of your lodge.

This evening, your guide will brief you about the journey ahead.

Day 2

Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Karatu

Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Karatu

After breakfast, drive southwest through Maasai countryside to Tarangire National Park, a less-crowded gem known for its massive baobab trees and large herds of elephants.

During your game drive, you may see lions resting under acacia trees, troops of baboons playing, and buffaloes grazing near the Tarangire River, which attracts wildlife throughout the year.

Stop for a picnic lunch in the bush, then continue your drive toward the green highlands of Karatu. This lush farming area lies just outside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and offers cool breezes and stunning views.

Karatu to Serengeti NP

Enjoy an early breakfast and begin the scenic drive toward Serengeti National Park. You’ll pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you may stop to admire a stunning view over Ngorongoro Crater or visit a traditional Maasai boma (village) to learn about their culture.

Upon entering the Serengeti, the landscape opens up into endless golden plains dotted with wildlife. You'll enjoy a game drive en route to your camp, spotting giraffes, elephants, hyenas, and—if you're lucky—a pride of lions or a cheetah hunting.

Arrive at your tented camp in time for dinner and fall asleep to the distant calls of nocturnal animals.

Today you will descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s best places to see wildlife in a compact area. Often called “Africa’s Eden,” the crater floor is home to an astonishing concentration of animals including lions, elephants, black rhinos, hippos, and flamingos.

Enjoy a half-day game drive and a picnic lunch near the hippo pool.

In the afternoon, ascend back to the crater rim and return to your lodge in Karatu for a relaxing evening.

After breakfast, depart for nearby Lake Manyara National Park.

Despite its smaller size, the park is incredibly diverse, featuring forest, grassland, and the alkaline lake itself. It’s famous for tree-climbing lions, thousands of flamingos, and large troops of baboons.

After a rewarding game drive and lunch, you’ll return to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon. Use the evening to rest, enjoy dinner, and reflect on your safari experiences.
