Arusha - Arusha National Park

At 8 am, you will be picked up from Arusha by your safari guide and driven to Arusha National Park. You will enjoy a game drive in the park. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Tulia Hotel. Two small bottles of water (500ml) per person are also provided.

Arusha National Park is a gem of varied ecosystems and spectacular views of Mount Meru, the crater that gives the region its name. The small national park includes the slopes, summit, and ash cone of Mount Meru, the Momela Lakes, Ngurdoto Crater, and the lush highland forests that blanket its lower slopes. Game viewing around the Momela Lakes is at a laid-back and quiet pace, and while passing through the forest, many visitors stop to search for troops of rare colobus monkeys playing in the canopy. Buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, zebras, and baboons can be seen all year round as well as many different bird species.

Arusha - Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will be driven to the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the Heart and Soul Lodge. Two small bottles of water (500ml) per person are also provided.

Often called the Eighth Natural Wonder of the World, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. About 2 million years ago, the Ngorongoro volcano erupted and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600-metre-tall walls. Now, over 19 kilometres wide, the Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo-filled swamps, and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros, and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest.

At 8 am, you will be picked up from the hotel by your driver-guide and driven to Tarangire National Park. After lunch, drive to Arusha (drop-off point to be advised). Two small bottles of water (500ml) per person are also provided.

Tarangire National Park is almost 3,000 square kilometres in size and is probably best known for its huge numbers of elephants and baobab trees. The name of the park comes from the Tarangire River which crosses through the park. Tarangire is especially spectacular during the Dry season (June - November) as wildlife concentrations rival that of the Serengeti. Enormous populations of elephants and other animals are drawn to the Tarangire River as their only source of water.
