Day 1

Your exciting safari adventure begins at 7:15 AM with a warm welcome and pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport. Depart the city and head northwest along the scenic Great Rift Valley, pausing at a viewpoint to enjoy panoramic views and take photos. An optional excursion to Lake Naivasha allows you to experience a peaceful boat ride among hippos and waterbirds, followed by a guided nature walk in a wildlife sanctuary where zebras and giraffes roam freely.

Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos, rich birdlife, and populations of white and black rhinos. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch. Spend the early afternoon relaxing and soaking in the peaceful surroundings. At around 3:00 PM, embark on a thrilling evening game drive through the park’s acacia forests and open plains in search of lions, leopards, buffaloes, and the endangered Rothschild giraffe. Return to your lodge by sunset for Dinner and Overnight stay.

After a hearty breakfast, check out of your lodge around 7:30 AM and begin the scenic drive to the world-renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve. Travel through the lush Mau Escarpment and traditional highland farms, offering insight into rural Kenyan life and expansive views of the landscape. Arrive at the Masai Mara in the early afternoon and check in to your lodge or tented camp, where a warm welcome and lunch await. After some time to relax and settle in, head out for an exciting evening game drive.

The Mara is teeming with wildlife, and your first game drive offers a chance to see elephants, zebras, antelopes, and possibly a pride of lions preparing for their evening hunt. The expansive savannahs, scattered acacia trees, and golden sunsets provide a perfect backdrop for photography and unforgettable moments. Return to the lodge before nightfall. Full Day in Masai Mara Game Reserve

After an early breakfast, head out with picnic lunch boxes for a full day of exploration in the Masai Mara, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. Spend the day tracking the Big Five “lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos” alongside numerous other species like cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, and warthogs. Depending on wildlife movements, you may drive towards the Mara River to witness crocodiles and hippos or explore less-traveled tracks for quieter sightings.

Your guide will provide expert insight into animal behavior, the ecosystem, and the Mara’s connection to the Serengeti. Midday, enjoy your picnic lunch at a safe, scenic location within the reserve, surrounded by nature. Continue your game drive through the afternoon, maximizing your chances of exceptional wildlife encounters and great photo opportunities. Return to your lodge between 4:00 and 5:00 PM for some rest. Later, enjoy a sundowner or relax around a campfire before dinner.

Start your final safari day with a relaxed breakfast, taking in the peaceful morning views of the savannah. After check-out, you have the option to visit a traditional Maasai village for a cultural experience, where you’ll learn about their lifestyle, customs, and admire their unique beadwork and traditional homes. Depart the Masai Mara by around 9:00 AM for the return journey to Nairobi, enjoying your final views of Kenya’s rolling landscapes along the way. The drive takes you back through the Rift Valley with possible scenic stopovers or refreshment breaks.

You will arrive in Nairobi by mid- to late afternoon. Your driver will drop you off at your Nairobi hotel or directly at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward journey.
