Day 1

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Your adventure begins in the morning as you depart Arusha and head southwest toward Tarangire National Park, a scenic two-hour drive through Maasai plains and rural villages. Upon arrival, you’ll begin your game drive through a landscape dotted with massive baobab trees and traversed by the Tarangire River, which acts as a magnet for wildlife—especially during the dry season.

Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and an impressive variety of animals, including giraffes, wildebeest, buffalo, and predators such as lions and leopards. Birdlife is abundant here too, with over 500 species recorded. After a picnic lunch inside the park and an afternoon of wildlife viewing, you'll head to your lodge or tented camp located in or near the park, where you’ll enjoy dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you’ll journey north to Lake Manyara National Park, located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Although it’s one of Tanzania’s smaller parks, Lake Manyara offers an incredibly diverse ecosystem—dense groundwater forest, open savannah, and the shallow alkaline lake itself.

Your game drive will take you through lush jungle-like vegetation where baboons and blue monkeys are common, followed by open plains where you may spot elephants, giraffes, and hippos. If you’re lucky, you might even see the park’s famous tree-climbing lions resting in the branches. The lakeshore is also home to thousands of flamingos and other water birds. After a relaxed afternoon, you’ll continue to your accommodation near Karatu, where you’ll have dinner and spend the night in preparation for an early start the next day.

Day 3

Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

An early breakfast sets the tone for a full-day excursion to one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations: the Ngorongoro Crater. You'll drive to the crater rim and descend nearly 600 meters into this ancient volcanic caldera, often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.”

Inside the crater, a rich variety of wildlife roams freely across grasslands, swamps, forests, and soda lakes. This is one of the best places in Tanzania to see the Big Five in a single day, including the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot near the hippo pool, then continue your game viewing into the afternoon.

In the late afternoon, you’ll ascend the crater wall and begin your return journey to Arusha, arriving in the early evening. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of an unforgettable three-day safari through northern Tanzania’s wildlife-rich landscapes.

Main Destination:
Ngorongoro Crater
Best Time To Visit June to October (Wildlife viewing is best)
High Season Most of the year – July to March (Expect crowds)
