Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Transfer by road from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. This is where all of your planning becomes a reality, your safari starts now. Tanzania is such a wonderful country when it comes to wildlife and beautiful landscapes. Explore one of Tanzania’s most rewarding national parks, a land of big baobab trees, big elephants, and big cats. Sightings of wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, vervet monkeys, and zebras are also almost guaranteed. Lions are plentiful here – Tarangire is home to one of Tanzania’s healthiest lion populations. While you’ll have to work a little harder to see a cheetah or leopard, it will only enhance your excitement when you do. You can also look forward to classic safari scenery – savannah plains, river woodlands, and rocky hills.

Tarangire National Park to Lake manyara National Park

Come with us on a guided game drive through Lake Manyara National Park. The park is famous for its elephants and tree-climbing lions, and we hope you'll see both. Lake Manyara is one of the most underestimated national parks in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Everything you’ll see here is on a different scale, at once compact (this is one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and epic (the Rift Valley escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary). You’ll see plenty of baboons and elephants in the park’s thick evergreen forest, and watch for the tree-climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa. Thanks to the proximity of the lake, forest, and rock walls, the birdlife will also tease out your inner birder – don’t forget your binoculars. In the evening, a Masai village tour and Lake Manyara National Park.
