Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire

Arusha to Tarangire

Your safari begins with an early morning pickup in Arusha. You'll join a group of like-minded travelers and drive southwest to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2 hours). Known for its majestic baobab trees and huge elephant herds, Tarangire offers a peaceful start to your safari with fewer crowds. You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive, spotting a wide variety of wildlife—zebras, giraffes, impalas, lions, and more—especially along the Tarangire River. After a picnic lunch in the park, you’ll continue your afternoon game drive before exiting the park.
You’ll head to a public campsite near Mto wa Mbu or Karatu, where your tents will be set up for you. The camp crew prepares a hot dinner as you settle in for a night under the stars.

Main Destination:

After an early breakfast, the journey continues as you drive toward Serengeti National Park. You’ll pass through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying breathtaking views of the highlands and, on clear days, the Ngorongoro Crater itself. Optional stopovers include Olduvai Gorge, a world-famous archaeological site (entry not included), or a Maasai boma to learn about traditional culture.
You’ll enter Serengeti around midday and begin a game drive right away, exploring its vast open plains that stretch to the horizon. The Serengeti is rich with wildlife, especially predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards. You may also witness parts of the Great Migration, depending on the season.
You’ll camp at a public campsite in central Serengeti (like Seronera), where basic shared facilities are available. Enjoy a warm dinner prepared by your chef and sleep surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Then continue with a final game drive in the Serengeti as you begin your journey back through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. With wildlife often visible even along the road, this is more than just a transfer—it’s part of your safari.

In the afternoon, you’ll exit the park and descend to the Ng'edere Campsite in Karatu, located outside the Ngorongoro gate. This provides a comfortable overnight stop with easier access for the next day’s crater visit. Dinner is served at camp, and you'll have time to relax and reflect on your Serengeti experience.

A picnic lunch is served at a scenic spot near a hippo pool. After your incredible game drive, ascend back to the rim and start your journey to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
