Arusha to Tarangire NP

Arusha to Tarangire NP

Your safari begins with a morning pickup from your hotel or the airport in Arusha, followed by a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. This park is famous for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and the Tarangire River, which attracts animals during the dry season.

You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive, spotting elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, wildebeest, and a variety of birds (over 500 species have been recorded here). Lunch is served as a picnic inside the park. In the late afternoon, you’ll exit the park and drive to Karatu, a scenic town in the Ngorongoro highlands.

Karatu to Serengeti NP

Karatu to Serengeti NP

After an early breakfast, you'll begin your journey to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you may briefly stop at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint for breathtaking photos. You won’t descend into the crater on this itinerary (unless customized), but the views alone are stunning.

As you descend onto the Serengeti plains, the landscape transforms into open savannah — home to the Great Migration (depending on season), and an abundance of wildlife. After entering through Naabi Hill Gate, you'll spend the afternoon on a game drive in Central Serengeti (Seronera area), known for big cats, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and hippos.

Main Destination:
Serengeti National Park
Best Time To Visit January to February and June to October (Different areas are best at different times)
High Season July to March (The Seronera area is crowded)

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive — often the best time to spot predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards on the hunt. After breakfast back at camp (or picnic breakfast), begin your journey back toward Karatu, game-driving along the way as you exit the Serengeti.

You’ll pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area once more, arriving in Karatu by late afternoon. It's a great place to relax after a long day, with cooler temperatures, forested hills, and views of the crater rim.

Lake Manyara to Arusha

After breakfast, drive just 30 minutes to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Known for its tree-climbing lions, flamingos, and large baboon troops, the park features forests, grasslands, acacia woodlands, and a shallow soda lake.

You’ll enjoy a relaxed game drive here, soaking in the beautiful scenery and possibly spotting elephants, hippos, zebras, warthogs, and hundreds of bird species. After lunch (picnic or lodge), begin your drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon, where your safari ends.
