Today, upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a representative from Big Apes Africa and you will drive south to the jungle of Kibale also known as the primate capital of the world with about 13 species of primates. You will have lunch along the way. You can choose to relax at the lodge or take a guided walk in the community after the long drive.

Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, you will drive to Kibale Forest National Park, a tropical rainforest with 13 species of primates and check in for a briefing. You will later be divided into small groups and enter the forest with a park ranger. This activity usually takes around three hours including a full hour spent in the company of the chimpanzees. You are advised to carry enough drinking water. After the activity, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in preparation for your gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

This morning, you will have an early breakfast and then drive to the briefing point in the forest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in preparation for your adventure with the mountain gorillas. You are advised to carry enough drinking water and a lunch box. At a cost of 20 US dollars, you can get a potter to carry your bag and give you a hand in slippery or steep parts of the forest. After the briefing, you will be distributed into groups of eight and led by a park ranger into the forest where you will spend one hour with the gentle giants. Rain gear is important considering that Bwindi is a tropical rainforest. You will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi where you will take a swim in Uganda’s most beautiful lake, enjoy nature or explore surrounding communities.

After your stay at the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi, you will drive back to Entebbe International Airport. You will have an opportunity to cross the Equator and do some souvenir shopping. We hope you enjoyed your safari and should you feel that you need to stay a little longer or do an extra activity, we will be glad to arrange for you at an extra cost.
