3-Day Mombasa - Tsavo East - Tsavo West Safari - Mombasa

Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park

The safari drive is via the so-called “explorers” route – the Mombasa/Nairobi highway. The 3 hours (120km) dawn drive takes us to the southern entry point of the Tsavo East National Park where we stop briefly for refreshments (optional). We commence with a game-viewing drive on entry at the Tsavo East National Park. Look out for elephant, giraffe, lion, cheetah, buffalo and many more. An afternoon game drive is scheduled later in the day after lunch. The relaxed game-viewing drive takes us on the trails of the Big Five with magnificent views of the African sunset.

Tsavo East National Park to Tsavo West National Park (60km – approx 1 hour)

We will be up before sunrise! Dawn finds us set and ready for our early morning game drive. Experience the splendor of an African sunrise that engulfs the savannah as we traverse the vast Tsavo East Park in search of the early grazers and hunters. A relaxed mid-morning game-viewing drive then follows. Later, we proceed to the Tsavo West National Park where we visit the rhino sanctuary and the Mzima Springs.

Tsavo West National Park - return to Mombasa

Your last day on safari! Be out at sunrise for a pre-breakfast game-viewing drive. This is when the park is at its best with the predators out on the hunt and the grazers browsing the soft, dewy vegetation. Natural colors dominate the scenic volcanic terrain. We will venture out again, this time to visit the Mzima Springs with more game viewing en-route. At the Mzima Springs, we will take a nature walk as we marvel at the underground source of sparkling, clear waters and the surrounding greenery which is a welcome reprieve in this semi-desert terrain. We view hippos, crocodiles, exotic fish and unique migratory birds.

Later, we depart from Tsavo West and proceed to the Kenyan coast and your beach hotel for drop-off. This marks the end of your 3-day and 2-night trip from Mombasa and back for your beach holiday extension.
