Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak & Descend to Horombo Hut – Kilimanjaro Trek

Trek under a canopy of stars toward Gilman’s Point (5,685m), and push onward to Uhuru Peak (5,895m)—the Roof of Africa and the highest point on the African continent. After celebrating your achievement, begin the descent back to Kibo Hut, followed by a continued trek down to Horombo Hut (3,700m). The total distance includes 6 km of ascent and 15 km of descent, taking approximately 12–14 hours in total.

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate – Descend Kilimanjaro & Return to Arusha or Moshi

Your final day on the Mount Kilimanjaro Marangu Route trek begins with a scenic descent from Horombo Hut (3,700m) down through the moorland and into the lush Kilimanjaro rainforest zone. The 20 km trail is rich in biodiversity, offering opportunities to spot Colobus monkeys, tropical birds, and unique plant life native to Kilimanjaro National Park.

After approximately 6–7 hours of trekking, you’ll arrive at Marangu Gate, marking the completion of your successful Kilimanjaro climb.
