Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater - Karatu

We depart camp early to ensure an early arrival at the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. With picnic lunch in hand, we descend into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera formed millions of years ago by a massive eruption. The crater’s unique geography creates a natural enclosure that supports a dense population of wildlife, offering a strong chance to spot all members of the Big Five: buffalo, lions, rhinos, elephants, and leopards.

Alongside these iconic species, expect sightings of zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and hyenas. The soda lake at the center attracts flocks of flamingos, while vultures, geese, storks, and other birdlife add to the crater’s rich biodiversity. After an unforgettable day of game viewing, we ascend from the crater and make our way to Karatu, where dinner and your overnight stay await at a comfortable lodge.
