Day 1

On your arrival at Entebbe Airport, your will be met and welcomed by the Nyumbu Beyond Journeys representative. He will be your tour and driver guide for the rest of the days you will be in the country. After the interaction and briefing about the entire trip, you will be transferred to your preferred Hotel in Entebbe for Overnight stay.

Day 2
Depart for Kibale Forest National Park & Bigodi Community walk
Depart for Kibale Forest National Park & Bigodi Community walk
Early morning has your breakfast at the lodge and depart for Kibale National Park. The Journey will take you through the Western Rift Valley’s Albertine Escarpment as well as the green country side and traditional homesteads of the local people with in the Bunyoro and Toro Kingdoms. Upon arriving in Fort portal, clear days will give you a glimpse of the legendary snow-capped Mountain also famously known as the “Mountains of the Moon” (Mt Rwenzori). Kibale Forest National Park is a home to 13 primate species including the common Mans’ closest Cousins.
The Forest is also a home to over 325 bird species including the rare Green Breasted Pitta. Arrive at your Lodge in the afternoon. Check in and later set out for a nature and bird walk with in the Bigodi Swamp. The wetland is a project being run by local communities and is much known for its rich diversity of bird species and other primates. It also provides employment and job opportunities to the local youth through tour guiding.

Day 3

Morning breakfast at your lodge and set out for a half day Chimpanzee tracking experience. You will be transferred to the park headquarters ay Kanyanchu for a 30-40mins briefing and get to know more about the chimpanzees and their ways of living with in the forest. After this, you will then embark on your journey to search for these primates through the forest.
On spotting the chimps, you are only given one Hour to be with them as you take videos and pictures. Along the way other primate species can be spotted such as the L’Hoest’s Monkeys, Red tailed Monkeys, Blue Vervet Monkeys, and Black & White colobus Monkeys among others. Other animals that can be seen are Forest Elephants, Buffalos and a lot of bird species.
After the tracking, return to your Lodge for Lunch and afternoon transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is one of country’s best wildlife National parks with over 600 bird species, mammals like Lions, Leopards, elephants, buffaloes and so many others.

Day 4

After an early morning breakfast, depart for a game drive in the Kasenyi area. Keep an eye out for a variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, warthogs, waterbucks, and bushbucks.
After lunch back at the lodge, embark on a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel is home to one of Africa’s largest hippo populations and numerous bird species. This 3-hour boat cruise offers stunning views of water-loving animals such as hippos, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, and various antelope species, as well as a rich diversity of birds. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5
Depart Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi National Park via Ishasha

After breakfast, depart from the northern side of Queen Elizabeth National Park and head to the southern Ishasha sector of the park. Enjoy a mid-morning game drive in search of the rare tree-climbing lions and other animals inhabiting that area.
In the afternoon, continue your journey to the renowned Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, famous for being home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Check in at your lodge for a restful evening.

Rise early for a hearty breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Today’s adventure takes you deep into the misty jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Accompanied by expert trackers, trek through dense foliage in search of a gorilla family. Upon encountering them, spend a magical hour observing their interactions, learning about their behavior, and capturing unforgettable photographs.
After this once-in-a-lifetime experience, return to your lodge for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Batwa people, the original forest dwellers. Visit their community to learn about their traditional hunting skills, medicinal plant use, and music and dance, gaining insight into their unique way of life before conservation policies relocated them from the forest. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7

After breakfast, bid farewell to the enchanting Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and embark on a scenic drive through the rolling hills and lush countryside of southwestern Uganda towards Lake Bunyonyi. Known as the “Place of Little Birds,” Lake Bunyonyi is renowned for its serene beauty, terraced hillsides, and scattered islands.
Upon arrival, check in to your lakeside lodge and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch. In the afternoon, set out on a guided canoeing excursion across the calm, crystal-clear waters. Glide past emerald islands, spot a variety of bird species, and learn about the rich local legends surrounding the lake’s history.
As the sun begins to set, return to your lodge to relax and take in the panoramic views, or enjoy a quiet evening by the water’s edge. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi.

Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi to Kigali with a Visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial
After breakfast, depart from Lake Bunyonyi and cross into Rwanda. Continue to Kigali, where you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a place of remembrance and learning that honors the victims of the 1994 genocide. Later, transfer to your hotel or to Kigali International Airport for your onward journey.
