Day 1

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast in Arusha, your driver-guide will meet you and begin your journey towards Tarangire National Park—a scenic 2.5 to 3-hour drive through rural landscapes, Maasai villages, and open plains.

Tarangire is renowned for its giant baobab trees, vast savannahs, and the seasonal Tarangire River, which draws a high concentration of animals—especially elephants. You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive, spotting lions, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, giraffes, and a variety of birds. The park’s picturesque beauty and quiet atmosphere make it a hidden gem on the Northern Circuit.

In the late afternoon, you’ll drive to your selected lodge or camp in the Karatu or Lake Manyara area, where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving at the crater rim in time to descend into the Ngorongoro Crater—often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.”

This massive volcanic caldera is home to an astonishing variety of wildlife, including black rhinos, lions, elephants, hippos, zebras, and even flamingos in the soda lake at the center. Because the crater is enclosed, it offers some of the best opportunities to spot the Big Five in a single day.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater, with scenic views of the landscape and nearby wildlife. In the afternoon, ascend back up the crater wall and return to your lodge for dinner and rest.
