Arrive in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest area by evening, check in at your lodge, and relax.

Day 3

Start with an early breakfast and transfer to the Bwindi park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Enter the forest with experienced guides in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ movement, and you’ll spend up to one hour observing them—an emotional and unforgettable encounter. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community for a cultural experience showcasing their ancient forest lifestyle, traditional dances, storytelling, and survival skills.

In the afternoon, head to the Kazinga Channel for a two-hour boat cruise. This natural channel connects Lake George to Lake Edward and hosts one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa. You’ll also see crocodiles, elephants drinking at the shores, buffaloes cooling off, and hundreds of bird species including kingfishers, pelicans, and African fish eagles. The cruise offers fantastic photo opportunities and a relaxing way to enjoy the park’s aquatic life. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
