Day 1

Arusha - Tarangire

Arusha - Tarangire

Begin your adventure with a drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, a hidden gem named after the Tarangire River—its lifeline in the dry season. This park boasts a diverse landscape of ancient baobab trees, giant termite mounds, and dramatic seasonal changes. During the dry months, the land turns red and dusty, while rains bring lush greenery. Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant herds and hosts lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, and more. Birdlife is rich, with sightings of hoopoes, lovebirds, herons, ostriches, and kingfishers. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild, then continue exploring the park’s unique terrain and rich wildlife. Tarangire offers both beauty and biodiversity, making it an unforgettable safari stop. Driving Distance: 124 km (approx. 2 hrs).

Bird lovers will enjoy sightings of over 400 species, including flamingos, pelicans, cormorants, and storks.
