Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and set off for Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River that flows through its heart. During the dry season, this river becomes a lifeline for the region’s wildlife, drawing animals from near and far. The park’s diverse landscapes range from sweeping savannahs of tall elephant grass to acacia woodlands and lush groundwater forests.

Tarangire is renowned for its impressive elephant herds, often seen gathering along the riverbanks. You may also spot graceful giraffes, shy bushbuck, and sturdy hartebeest, while predators such as lions and leopards are frequently encountered. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted to know that Tarangire boasts the highest concentration of breeding bird species in the world.

Day 3

Serengeti National Park To Ndutu

Serengeti National Park To Ndutu

A safari in the Southern Serengeti offers a front-row seat to the Great Migration, with daily game drives immersing you in one of nature’s greatest spectacles. In the early months of the year, the lush green plains become the stage for thousands of newborn wildebeest taking their first steps. As the season progresses, vast herds begin their journey north toward the Masai Mara. This is one of the few places where you can witness the full cycle of the migration—herds returning with the December rains, calving in January and February, and their eventual departure as the grasslands dry toward the end of the rainy season.

Because wildlife viewing here is highly seasonal, accommodation options are limited. The region has only a handful of permanent lodges and one permanent tented camp, while a variety of mobile camps—ranging from budget to luxury—open exclusively during the migration months to keep guests close to the action.

Ndutu (Southern Serengeti NP)

Day 4

Ndutu

Ndutu

Begin the day with an early morning bush breakfast during your game drive, exploring the varied landscapes of the Ndutu Conservation Area. From tranquil marshlands and shady acacia woodlands to the shimmering soda lakes of Ndutu and Masek, and the sweeping Serengeti plains, each habitat reveals its own wildlife wonders. The marshes are a favored refuge for big cats raising their young, while the short-grass plains come alive during the Great Migration as wildebeest give birth.

As the sun sets, unwind with a drink and share the day’s adventures at the bar before returning to your cottage. The distant calls of hyenas echo across the night, setting the scene for a peaceful, tsetse-free sleep.

On your final safari day, begin early with a quick breakfast before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Spanning 260 square kilometers, its fertile floor is a haven for wildlife. During your 5-hour game drive, you may encounter elephants, buffalo, black rhinos, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and lions—so keep your camera close at hand.

After a picnic lunch beside the scenic Hippo Pool, ascend the crater walls and begin your journey back to Arusha. You will arrive by late afternoon, with drop-off at your hotel or the airport, carrying unforgettable memories of your safari adventure.
