Day 1

Your adventure begins with an early morning transfer from your hotel in Zanzibar to the airport for a scenic flight to Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous wildlife destinations in the world. Upon arrival at the Serengeti airstrip, your professional safari guide will welcome you and begin an exciting game drive across the vast plains. The Serengeti is home to incredible wildlife including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and large herds of wildebeest. You will enjoy a picnic lunch during the game drive while surrounded by the beautiful savannah landscape. In the afternoon, continue exploring the park in search of more wildlife before heading to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight in the Serengeti.

Day 2

Full Game Drive Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at your lodge or camp, you will spend a full day exploring the endless plains of Serengeti National Park on exciting game drives. Serengeti is famous for its abundant wildlife and is home to the Big Five lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino. During the day, you may see predators such as lions and cheetahs hunting across the plains while large herds of zebras and wildebeest graze nearby. If traveling during the migration season, you may witness part of the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration, one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth. You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with the afternoon game drive. In the evening, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight in the Serengeti.

Day 3

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will enjoy a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, giving you another opportunity to see predators and other wildlife while the animals are most active. Later, you will depart the Serengeti and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing through beautiful landscapes and traditional Maasai lands. Along the way you may continue spotting wildlife as the Serengeti ecosystem gradually changes into the green highlands of Ngorongoro. After arriving at the crater rim, you will enjoy spectacular views overlooking the famous Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. In the evening you will check in at your lodge in Karatu, where you will enjoy dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you will descend approximately 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable wildlife game drive. The crater floor is home to more than 25,000 animals, making it one of the best places in Africa to see wildlife in a single day. During the game drive you may encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, and if lucky the rare black rhinoceros. You will enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool while watching hippos resting in the water. After lunch, continue exploring the crater before ascending the crater rim and driving toward Karatu where you will spend the night at your lodge with dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and impressive baobab trees that dominate the landscape. Upon arrival you will begin a game drive through the park’s savannah and along the Tarangire River, where many animals gather to drink. You may see elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest, and several antelope species, as well as predators such as lions and leopards. The park is also an excellent destination for bird watching. After enjoying a picnic lunch and a final game drive, you will leave the park and drive to Arusha, where you will be transferred to the airport for your departure, marking the end of your unforgettable Tanzania safari.
