Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you'll meet your professional safari guide and embark on your journey. The drive to Tarangire takes you through scenic Masai steppes and cultivated farms. Tarangire is famously known as the "Baobab Capital" and the "Elephant Paradise" of Tanzania. In June and July, the park is relatively dry, causing wildlife to congregate around the Tarangire River. You can expect to see massive herds of elephants (often hundreds), lions, leopards, giraffes, buffalo, and a dazzling array of bird species, including the endemic ashy starling and the majestic kori bustard.
Tloma Lodge. Nestled in the highlands just outside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area near Karatu, this beautiful farm lodge offers stunning views over a coffee plantation and the Great Rift Valley. It's a peaceful and elegant retreat with spacious rooms, a fireplace for cool evenings, and lush gardens.

Day 3
Karatu to Western Corridor Serengeti National Park
Karatu to Western Corridor Serengeti National Park
An early start takes you into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You'll stop at the crater's viewpoint for a breathtaking look into the world's largest intact volcanic caldera (a preview for your last day). You then descend the other side into the vast, endless plains of the Serengeti. The drive itself is a game drive as you traverse towards the Western Corridor. This region is characterized by the Grumeti River, a key obstacle for the migrating wildebeest. You'll likely see the tell-tale signs of the migration: vast columns of wildebeest and zebra, and the predators that follow them.
Mbalageti Lodge Serengeti. Perched on a hill in the western sector, Mbalageti offers arguably one of the best views in the entire Serengeti. Your room (often a luxurious tented suite) boasts a private deck overlooking the seemingly infinite plains. From your balcony, you can often see herds moving in the distance. The lodge is perfectly situated for exploring the river crossing points.

Full Game Viewing in Western Serengeti
Full Game Viewing in Western Serengeti
This is the day dedicated to the Great Migration and the Grumeti River crossing. You will head out with a packed lunch (picnic boxes) to maximize your time in the prime viewing areas. Your guide will be in contact with other drivers to locate the herds. Patience is key. You may witness the nervous herds gathering on the banks, building up the courage to plunge into the crocodile-infested waters. The crossing is a chaotic, dramatic, and unforgettable spectacle of nature. Even if a crossing doesn't happen, the sheer density of wildlife here is astounding.
Returning to the lodge after an exhilarating day, you can share stories with other guests at the bar, enjoy a superb dinner, and fall asleep to the sounds of the African night.

The Seronera River Valley provides a permanent water source, attracting all manner of wildlife. It is famous for its high density of leopards (often seen resting in acacia trees), cheetahs on the open plains, and strong prides of lions. You will arrive at your new camp in the afternoon.
Into Wild Africa Tented Camp. This offers an authentic, intimate, and immersive bush experience. You will stay in comfortable safari tents, allowing you to feel truly connected to the environment. The game viewing is consistently excellent, with large herds of buffalo, elephants, topi, and impala. This is your best chance to spot the elusive leopard and observe cheetahs on the hunt.
