The waterfall itself is powerful and dramatic, crashing into a pool that’s sometimes swimmable depending on the season and water levels. The hike to Materuni Waterfalls takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour (each way) and is considered moderate in difficulty. The trail passes through Materuni village, giving visitors a chance to interact with Chagga people, the local community.
