Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the mystical rainforest that is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The drive takes you through rolling hills, roadside villages, and scenic stops for photos at the equator and lunch in Mbarara city. By late afternoon, you will arrive at your lodge nestled on the edge of the forest, surrounded by misty hills and bird calls.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

Today is the highlight of your safari. After an early breakfast, you will head to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park headquarters for a briefing, then set off on your gorilla trek. Trekking can take 2–6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family, but every step through the dense jungle builds the anticipation. Finally, you will come face to face with a gorilla family, observing their gentle nature, playful young ones, and powerful silverback is an unforgettable moment. You will spend one magical hour in their presence before trekking back and receiving your Gorilla trekking certificates. Return to the lodge to relax, enjoy a warm shower, and celebrate this life-changing
experience.

Batwa Cultural Experience and Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will visit the Batwa community, the indigenous forest people who once lived in Bwindi. Here you will enjoy an authentic experience of their traditions — storytelling, music, and dance performed around the fire. Later, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second-largest park. You will pass through the scenic Ishasha sector, known for its famous tree-climbing lions (chance to spot them if lucky). Arrive at your lodge in the evening, settle in, and enjoy the views of the savannah stretching beyond.

Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Cruise

Rise early for a sunrise game drive on the Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth NP. This is prime time to spot elephants, buffalo herds, antelopes, warthogs, and possibly lions or leopards on the hunt. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation. In the afternoon, head to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise where the Nile waters meet Lake Edward. This natural waterway is teeming with hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and an extraordinary variety of birds. It’s one of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife spectacles.
