We will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to Arusha Farm House. On Day 1, your excursion includes a city sightseeing tour, where you’ll explore the vibrant local markets, the Maasai Market, cultural heritage sites, and the Arusha City Museum.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and continue along the less-traveled route northwards to Lake Natron, following the Rift Valley Escarpment. As you drive through traditional Maasai lands, the sacred Ol’doinyo Lengai the “Mountain of God” to the Maasai will soon come into view. You’ll arrive at the small Maasai village of Ngare Sero, where you can enjoy a guided bush walk to the shimmering pink shores of Lake Natron, home to thousands of flamingos during their breeding season. Alternatively, you may choose to visit a nearby waterfall for a refreshing swim.

Day 3
Lake Natron to Northern Serengeti National Park

Begin your day early as you continue northward, with the vehicle winding its way up several serpentine turns. Take in your final views of Lake Natron before leaving the Rift Valley behind. From there, you’ll pass through the village of Wasso en route to the Northern Serengeti. Enter the Serengeti at midday via Klein’s Gate and embark on your first game drive in the Lobo area. Between October and December, you may witness vast herds of wildebeests migrating back to the southern plains. Lobo boasts a rich variety of resident wildlife including leopards, lions, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, and zebras thanks to its permanent springs and a landscape of open grasslands dotted with kopjes. After the game drive, proceed to your overnight accommodation.

The Northern Serengeti is a vast, largely untouched wilderness, especially vibrant during the dry season when it becomes home to enormous migratory herds. The region’s most breathtaking spectacle is undoubtedly the massive gatherings of wildebeests and zebras that traverse these plains. Beyond the migration, the Northern Serengeti supports a rich variety of resident wildlife, including lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes, crocodiles, and the rare oribi antelope.

Day 5
Central Serengeti National Park

After a leisurely morning, you’ll drive to Central Serengeti and spend the day exploring the abundant wildlife of the Seronera Valley. This area offers excellent year-round game viewing, including predators such as cheetahs, hyenas, leopards, and lions. You’ll also encounter a variety of herbivores like buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, impalas, topis, warthogs, and zebras.
Ever wondered how to tell a Grant’s gazelle from a Thomson’s gazelle? Both have white rumps, but the Thomson’s rump features a thin black stripe just below the lighter brown band. Additionally, the Thomson’s tail is completely black, while the white rump patch of the Grant’s gazelle extends above its tail. Be sure to ask your guide to share more fascinating insights as you continue on to your accommodation.

Enjoy another game drive in Serengeti National Park before heading to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which was separated from Serengeti in 1959. The Maasai people who once lived within Serengeti were relocated here, where they continue to coexist harmoniously with the wildlife and natural environment. Did you know that the Ngorongoro Conservation Area boasts a diverse range of topographical features, including nine distinct craters within its 8,292 sq km boundaries? Your guide will be happy to share more about this remarkable destination. Afterwards, proceed to your accommodation perched atop the crater rim, where you can take in breathtaking views of the caldera beneath a star-filled night sky. Alternatively, you may choose to continue on to your lodging in Karatu.

Day 7

After breakfast, drive along the crater rim to Seneto Gate on the western side before descending onto the crater floor via an adventurous route—offering breathtaking views along the way! The Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast array of wildlife thanks to its consistent water sources. Animals frequently move in and out of the crater, with wildebeests and zebras increasing during the dry season, and elands, elephants, and waterbucks becoming more abundant in the wet season. Keep an eye out for the ‘Big Five’—buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and the elusive black rhinoceros. The crater is one of only two places in Tanzania where this critically endangered species can still be seen. After an intensive game drive, continue onward to Lake Eyasi for your overnight stay.

Day 8

Nestled in the southwest corner of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area lies the stunning Lake Eyasi, a shallow soda lake fed by the Sibiti and Baray Rivers. A visit to Lake Eyasi offers a unique and culturally rich safari experience, distinct from the traditional wildlife excursions in other parts of Tanzania.
This region is home to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities—two of the last remaining groups in East Africa to maintain their traditional lifestyles. The Hadzabe are hunter-gatherers, while the Datoga are pastoralists. Visiting their villages provides a rare, intimate glimpse into their daily lives. You may be welcomed into their homes, learn about their family structures, join in traditional dances, participate in beadwork with the women, or accompany the Hadzabe on a small game hunting and gathering expedition. You can also learn how to make traditional bows and arrows, among other activities.
Later in the day, drive back to Arusha for your overnight stay.
