While most of the journey is on well-paved roads, the rugged stretches add an authentic sense of adventure. By evening, you’ll arrive at your lodge, where you can unwind, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day’s unforgettable gorilla encounter.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Kalinzu Forest

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off on your gorilla trek. Armed with drinking water, a packed lunch, and the option to hire a porter for assistance, you will hike into the dense rainforest guided by a ranger. Once you locate a gorilla family, you’ll have a magical one-hour encounter with these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Since Bwindi is a rainforest, carrying rain gear is essential. Depending on the time you return, you may also opt for a cultural visit with the local community. Later in the day, you’ll travel to Rubirizi near Kalinzu Forest, where you will spend the night in preparation for chimpanzee tracking.

Chimpanzee Trekking in Kalinzu & Return to Entebbe

Following breakfast, you will drive to Kalinzu Forest, managed by Uganda’s National Forestry Authority, for your chimpanzee trekking experience. After a briefing, you’ll venture into the forest trails in search of our closest relatives. Once found, you’ll spend one fascinating hour observing the chimpanzees as they swing through the trees, play, and interact. After this rewarding adventure, you will begin your journey back to Entebbe, marking the end of your three-day primate safari.
