Southern Serengeti Ndutu Area
Southern Serengeti Ndutu Area
After an early breakfast, set out with packed lunches and spend the day immersed in this extraordinary wildlife event. Between late Dec and March, the open plains of Ndutu become a birthing ground for nearly 500,000 wildebeest calves. Each day, up to 8,000 calves are born, creating a short but intense window of life, vulnerability, and predator action. As you drive across the short grass plains, you will witness massive herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, accompanied by dramatic scenes of predators on the hunt. Lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and leopards take advantage of the abundance of newborns, offering unmatched opportunities for observing predator-prey interactions in real time.

After an early breakfast, depart from your Serengeti lodge or camp and begin your scenic journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you leave the vast plains behind, enjoy a final game drive through the Serengeti offering last glimpses of lions, elephants, giraffes, or even a chance encounter with a leopard or cheetah.
