Nairobi City to Maasai Mara Game Reserve

You will be picked up from Nairobi at 7:00am and begin your leisurely drive across the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Along the way, take a brief stop to enjoy the stunning panoramic views of this geological wonder.

The journey continues past the Narok en route to the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge or camp. For many safari-goers, this is the highlight of the entire expedition. The vast Mara plains are teeming with an extraordinary variety of wildlife that will captivate you.

The region's dramatic landscape, with its sweeping escarpments and wide plateaus, adds to the magic of the experience. The Masai Mara is renowned for hosting one of the highest concentrations of predators in Africa and the Big Five. If you are lucky, you might witness the thrilling spectacle of a predator making a kill.

Later in the afternoon, head out for your first game drive across the reserve before returning to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full Day Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch near the Mara River, close to the iconic migration crossing area.

Morning and afternoon game drives in search of the Big Five, as well as the countless other species that reside in the vast reserve.

We expect to see a wide variety of wildlife, including giraffes, elephants, zebras, hippos, baboons, warthogs, hyenas, impalas, hartebeest, wildebeest, lions and cheetahs among others.

In the months of July and August, millions of animals mostly wildebeest and zebras move from the Serengeti in Tanzania to Maasai Mara before returning to Tanzania between from October onwards.

Full Day Maasai Mara Game Reserve

On this day you will set out for a full day game drive or choose to have game drives with breaks during the day so that you may also have a a day at leisure.
You can also arrange extra activities with the driver guide like an experience a hot air balloon ride or a Maasai Village visit at an extra cost.

Departure from the Maasai Mara to Nairobi City

After a sumptuous breakfast at your camp, you will check out and drive back to Nairobi City.
You can also choose to drive via Naivasha for lunch and excursions (extra cost) or drive straight to Nairobi and later transfer to the airport for your journey back home.
