After an early breakfast, you’ll depart for Ndutu, located in the southern plains that straddle the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This region is the heart of the wildebeest calving season. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy your first game drive in this extraordinary landscape, where vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles roam freely. During this period, an estimated 8,000 calves are born daily, making it a thrilling time to observe predator-prey interactions. Lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are often seen lurking nearby, waiting for the vulnerable young. Your overnight stay will be in a comfortable tented lodge close to the action.

Today is dedicated to a full-day safari in Ndutu. The open plains offer superb visibility, making it easy to witness dramatic chases, tender moments between mothers and calves, and rare sightings of elusive predators. With your expert guide, you’ll track wildlife, explore hidden corners, and perhaps even witness a wildebeest giving birth a truly humbling and emotional experience. Optional stops at Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek offer excellent birdwatching and serene photo opportunities. As the sun sets, you’ll return to your tented lodge for a warm meal and storytelling under the stars.

Ngorongoro Crater

On your final day, you’ll depart early for the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most breathtaking wildlife sanctuaries. The crater floor offers a dense concentration of animals, including the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo – all within a stunning collapsed volcanic caldera. After a half-day game drive and picnic lunch inside the crater, you’ll begin the drive back to Arusha, bringing your unforgettable safari to an end.
