Day 1

Exploring the home of Elephants

Exploring the home of Elephants

Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Arusha, heading southwest toward Tarangire National Park. After a scenic drive through rural landscapes and Maasai villages, you’ll arrive at the park gate. Once inside, a full-day game drive awaits, taking you through rolling savannahs, dense woodlands, and along the banks of the Tarangire River. The park is famous for its massive elephant herds, but you’ll also spot zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, lions and other beautiful wildlife. Bird enthusiasts will enjoy multiple recorded species. Around midday, you’ll stop at a designated picnic site with sweeping views, where you can relax and enjoy lunch surrounded by nature. Afterward, continue exploring the park before exiting in the late afternoon. You’ll head to a nearby lodge or camp for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the African wilderness.

Into the Crater

After breakfast, depart early for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From here, descend into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera—home to one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. The landscape changes dramatically as you reach the crater floor, where open grasslands, forests, and a soda lake create a rich habitat for countless animals. A picnic lunch is enjoyed at a scenic spot near the hippo pool, allowing you to take in the sights and sounds of this unique ecosystem. After lunch, continue game viewing along the crater floor, taking in the dramatic scenery and observing animal behavior up close. In the afternoon, ascend the crater wall and begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving in the early evening with unforgettable memories.
