On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly received by a Naleyo Tours and Travels safari guide. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short city tour of Kigali, with an opportunity to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, explore local markets, or browse traditional craft centres. Afterwards, you will set off on a scenic 2-5hrs drive through Rwanda’s rolling green hills to Ruhengeri, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge and spend the evening at leisure, enjoying the serene atmosphere and breath-taking views of the Virunga Volcanoes.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park Headquarters led by a Naleyo Tours and Travels guide for a briefing before embarking on your golden monkey trekking adventure. These playful primates live in bamboo forests, and the trek usually lasts 2–4 hours. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you may opt for a cultural visit to the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village, where you will learn about Rwanda’s traditions, or simply unwind at the lodge.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will cross into Uganda through the Cyanika border. The drive is scenic, passing through rolling hills and terraced farmlands until you arrive in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
In the afternoon, you may enjoy a community walk or a Batwa cultural experience, before retiring to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4

This is the highlight of your safari! After an early breakfast, you will report to the park headquarters for a briefing before heading into the forest for your gorilla trekking experience. The trek can last between 2 and 7 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas.
Once you locate your gorilla family, you will spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat a truly unforgettable wildlife encounter. Return to your lodge in the afternoon for relaxation and dinner.

Day 5

After breakfast, you will drive north to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through the Ishasha sector, which is famous for its unique tree-climbing lions. You will enjoy a game drive here in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes, before continuing to your lodge in the northern part of the park.

Day 6

Wake up early for a morning game drive on the Kasenyi plains, an area rich with wildlife such as elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, and Uganda kob. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where you will see one of Africa’s highest concentrations of hippos, along with crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species. Return to your lodge for an evening at leisure.

Day 7
Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park but one rich with wildlife. On arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy an afternoon game drive, where you may spot zebras, giraffes, elands, impalas, buffaloes, and more.
If time allows, you can also take a short boat ride on Lake Mburo, offering opportunities to view hippos, crocodiles, and water birds.

Day 8

Lake Mburo – Entebbe Departure
Start your day with a unique guided nature walk or horseback safari, which allows you to experience wildlife up close in a way that vehicles cannot. After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe, stopping at the Equator line for photos and souvenir shopping.
Your safari concludes with a drop-off at Entebbe International Airport.
