After an early breakfast, embark on a morning game drive through Murchison Falls National Park. Spot elephants, buffalo, giraffes, lions, and various antelope species while exploring the savannah and woodland habitats. Return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest, then take a Nile boat cruise to the base of the falls. Observe hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species along the riverbanks. Marvel at the cascading falls, take photos, and learn about the river’s role in the park’s ecosystem.

After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls and drive toward Kibale Forest National Park, passing scenic countryside, rolling hills, and rural villages. Stop en route for lunch at a local restaurant, then continue the drive to Kibale National Park. Upon arrival, check into your lodge for refreshment.

In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetlands for a guided nature walk through swamp forests and papyrus wetlands, spotting monkeys, a variety of bird species, and other wildlife while learning about local ecology and conservation. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Chimpanzee Habituation Experience in Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast at the lodge, collect your packed lunch and head to the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a full-day Chimpanzee Habituation Experience (CHEX). With rangers and researchers, follow a chimpanzee community from the time they leave their nests in the morning until they settle back in the evening. Watch them feed, groom, play, and interact in their natural environment, gaining deeper insight than on a standard trek. The forest is also alive with other primates; you may spot red colobus, L’Hoest’s monkey, and grey-cheeked mangabey, along with colorful birds and butterflies.

Around midday, take a break to enjoy your packed lunch in the shade of the forest before continuing to observe the chimps as they move through the trees. By evening, return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation, reflecting on an extraordinary day spent with our closest relatives in the wild.
