Modest, unpretentious Big Five reserve
Overall rating
4/5

Though sandwiched between two decidedly upmarket private reserves, Ulusaba and Exeter, Inyati is an unusually down-to-earth spot with a comfortable but simple and modestly priced lodge. It has everything you’d expect from a Sabi Sands reserve including excellent Big Five game viewing, personable guides, four-poster beds, a curvy pool and timber decks with freshwater views, but everything is presented and delivered with few frills and minimal fuss.

Your game drives take you into territory that’s also visited by safari-goers from luxury lodges, all of whom will have paid considerably more for than you their trip. If that’s the kind of thing that makes you feel pleasantly smug, I’m sure you will love Inyati.
