Many animals roam the area as it is next to a river.

It's been 5 years but we remember it as our best holiday ever. The wildlife was amazing (missed a cheetah by a few hours only!), the lodge is fab - great food, very accommodating staff and 5* treatment. Isaac was our driver, and boy was he brilliant! Had an intimate knowledge of birds too, and kept pointing out v interesting ones. His tracking (along with Harry) was amazing and we got the feeling all the other cars were relying on our guys pretty heavily! It also meant we got lots of watching and photographing ops.

I highly recommend this lodge. I think if I were made of money I'd consider ulusaba or something, but in all honesty you can't go wrong here.

btw the pics for inyati on this page are mine :)

My husband and I have travelled down from Sweden to South Africa on numerous occaisions and Inyati is our favourite. The wildlife viewing is amazing. We followed the trials and tribulations of the Mapogo lions. We watched when they ruled the roost but also when they were run out by the younger, stronger Selati coalition.
In one day you can view the elephants, giraffe and wild dog and finish off photographing leopard up a tree in the fantastic South African sunset.
The rangers are experienced and knowledgeable.
The hospitality at the lodge is excellent. The food is so good we often leave with a recipe or two.
We can highly recommend Inyati Game Reserve for a great safari experience.

Transportation to Inyati is comfortable by plane from Joburg (with one transfer). Lodge is near to airstrip. Buildings are placed just few tenth of meters from bank of the Sand river. You can watch animals even from window of your bungalow or from terrace. Staff is very very friendly and professional. Kitchen is outstanding. And safari trips at all are perfect. During short stay you can see whole the Big five and much much more.
