essentially for scenic typical Karoo landscapes
We stayed in an extremely comfortable and large chalet, surrounded by undisturbed expanses of Karoo. It can get very hot in the day, but thankfully there was a pool to swim in, which was regularly visited by local birds.
I usually stay here on the way to Cape Town and love the scenery, the karoo lamb and the peaceful atmosphere.There are some interesting fossils of dinosaurs still embedded in rock.

The Karoo is a unique biome and if you enjoy the spectacular peace and quiet of the semi desert with its abundance of specially adapted plants, animals and insects this is for you. Nice pool and good restaurant - and some ancient fossils on display.

The landscape is gorgeous and the accommodations are lovely - all have a great view of the buttes at sunset. Lions have been reintroduced into the park now.

My trip was before lion were reintroduced and the Park re-stocked - so game viewing wasn't particularly great. However, the Park itself is beautiful with great accommodation that lifts your spirits.
