I stayed and always stay at Vumi Hills tented camp in Mikumi, 3 miles off main road, clean and excellent food .Tented camping from ordinary to luxurious rooms or tents.

To avoid the traffic jams of Ngorongoro and the other parks around Arusha, head further afield to Mikumi. I've visited twice and have seen only three other tourists there. Everyone there--rangers, hoteliers, tour guides--is more laid back and informal, they'll treat you more like a friend than a client. In addition to the animals (they've got them all), the drive down from Arusha via Dodoma or better yet via Iringa is a great experience.

There is bountiful wildlife in Mikumi. The fact that it is so easy to get to from Dar is both a plus and a minus.

High Peaks Expeditions was a random choice from the internet, after reviewing the comments and notations. Choice was good, for a 2 days Safari at Mikumi starting from our hotel in Zanzibar and returning to International airport for our return to Paris. Mikumi is a fantastic place with very close sights of the fascinating wild life. Issa was an experienced guide and driver, he managed to find the right spots. Park was not crowded during this mid season, it has been a great experience in all aspects. Ally is managing and following at a distance but always present if required

Incredible experience!! our guide William was experienced, patient and had an excellent knowledge of the park and wildlife which enabled us to get up close with all of the animals including elephants having their evening shower and lions having their breakfast

We were able to see everything except for the elusive leopard
Small size of park made it easy to find and view wildlife from good vantage points

Our guide was magnificent and led us to a unique and enchanting experience. We saw lots of animals: leopard, lion, giraffes, elephants, wildebeest etc... we had the opportunity to attend a lion hunt
