A Safari Worth Every Moment
We had a problem with our flight and ended up arriving in Arusha about six hours late. To be clear, this had nothing to do with Oldbeast Vacations it was entirely due to the airline. Because of the delay, we missed our first day of safari in Tarangire and went straight to Manyara Best View Lodge. This lodge is magnificent. We would definitely have stayed an extra day just to enjoy its facilities and the stunning view.
On the second and third days, we did the safari in the Serengeti. It was an incredible experience. We saw many animals and were lucky to be near a group of lions just as it started to rain. Watching how they behaved in that moment was fascinating.
The accommodations, both at Bush Tembo Camp and Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp, were excellent, very comfortable, with delicious food right in the heart of the savannah.
On the last day, we visited the Ngorongoro Crater. It was a foggy and overcast day, which made the descent into the crater feel even more dramatic. Truly unforgettable.
We didn’t manage to spot the Rhinoceros or the Leopard from the Big Five, but that’s just how nature is sometimes.
By the way, the SG Premium Resort, which served as our base in Arusha, is also an excellent hotel.
One important tip: we highly recommend arriving in Arusha at least one day before your safari starts. The local airlines in Tanzania can be quite unreliable, and delays like ours are not uncommon. Better to be safe and start your adventure stress-free.

Magic in the Heart of Tanzania
I had never been on a safari before, so I did not know what to expect. Oldbeast Vacations completely blew me away!
Our guide, John, was amazing. Funny, kind, and patient, he knew all the best spots and made sure we had a clear view of every animal we encountered. He shared fascinating facts about every animal we saw, and thanks to his expertise, we were able to see all the animals we hoped for, including the Big Five! His great rapport with other guides also meant he always knew exactly where the animals were.
The camping experience was comfortable and well-organized, but the absolute highlight was the food. Fredy, our chef, prepared gourmet meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, each one absolutely delicious.
From the very beginning, Mwanne made the booking process smooth, helpful, and reassuring, answering all our questions with patience and care.

From Tarangire to Ngorongoro: Pure Magic
Our 5 day safari with Oldbeast Vacations was absolutely incredible. Every moment felt like a dream, from the breathtaking landscapes to the amazing wildlife all around us. We were lucky enough to see so many animals up close, and every day brought new surprises that left us in awe.
Our guide, John, was nothing short of extraordinary. Friendly, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable, he made the safari feel personal and effortless. He listened carefully to what we wanted, adjusted the itinerary to suit us, and even stayed longer in areas where the animals were abundant. John’s respect for the wildlife was inspiring – he let us get close to the animals while always ensuring we did not disturb them. We explored Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and finished in Ngorongoro Crater. Our accommodations, especially Siafu Lodge, were beyond what we expected – comfortable, welcoming, and perfectly situated to enjoy the surroundings. Each meal was a delight, with fresh, cooked lunches and dinners that made every bite memorable.

A Perfect Safari with Mwanne and Joshua
We booked a private 5-day safari with Oldbeast Vacations, and from the very first moment, I felt something rare — true care. I had contacted many companies before, but most didn’t listen, pushed expensive packages, or simply didn’t understand what I wanted. But Mwanne was different. A Breathtaking Safari Experience with Oldbeast Vacations
We did a 6-day camping safari with another couple who also happened to be from Canada too. OMG! I still dream about it sometimes!
Mwanne, our main contact from Oldbeast Vacations, was incredibly attentive to every detail. From the moment he met us at the airport, his warm personality immediately made us feel welcome. The next day, he took us on a town tour in Arusha and made sure we always got a fair “rafiki price” instead of a “mzungu price”, bargaining hard for us while we shopped for souvenirs. It honestly felt like exploring the city with a trusted friend.
During the safari, David, our guide, amazed us every single day with his knowledge of the wildlife, landscapes, and hidden corners of each park. He was charming, funny, and unbelievably skilled at finding animals. Most of the time we enjoyed sightings completely alone, far from the crowded areas, which made the experience feel even more magical.
The camping equipment was all new, the sleeping bags were comfortable, and the whole setup felt safe and well-organized. And Dulla, our cook… wow! He prepared a wonderful variety of delicious meals, and every dinner felt special — especially when paired with a bottle of wine under the African sky.
Everything was truly perfect, and we couldn’t have asked for more.

Witnessing the Big Five with an Extraordinary Guide
After comparing several safari packages, my friend and I decided at the last minute to book our African adventure with Oldbeast Vacations. We could not be happier with our choice, and we would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone visiting Tanzania.
From the very first moment, everything was handled flawlessly. Innocent, our first driver, met us punctually at the airport and even helped us buy a SIM card and exchange money. On the second day, we met our tour guide Joshua and our incredible chef Hamisi. Joshua briefed us thoroughly on our safari itinerary and welcomed all our questions with patience and enthusiasm. He is a walking encyclopedia, with deep knowledge spanning animal behavior, birdlife, and Masai culture. His passion for the Serengeti and Tanzania shone through every single day.
Joshua’s skill and intuition made every moment unforgettable. Thanks to his sharp eyes, extensive network of local guides, and 16 years of experience, we were able to witness extraordinary wildlife moments. From a cheetah hunt in the Serengeti to spotting the elusive leopard on our very last day just hours before our park permit expired, and even seeing rhinos at Ngorongoro, we were lucky enough to experience all of the Big Five on this one safari. Joshua’s expertise in jeep positioning meant we captured countless incredible photos, and his calm professionalism ensured every day was exciting yet comfortable.
The flexibility of our private tour allowed Joshua to make small itinerary tweaks that maximized our experience. Early morning starts, less crowded viewpoints, and his guidance on local markets made our journey seamless and personal. Even when I made a mistake by standing on the back rack of the vehicle in Tarangire out of excitement, Joshua handled it with understanding and humor without letting it affect our safari.
Hamisi, our chef, deserves special mention. His gentle and humble nature combined with his culinary talent made every meal memorable. From freshly baked bread and delicious soups to indulgent desserts and customized dishes for our dietary preferences, every meal was crafted with love. Hamisi’s thoughtfulness, whether offering toppings for peanut butter or creating extra space for us at breakfast, left a lasting impression.
Our equipment and accommodations were top notch. The safari jeep was comfortable and practical, with solar charging for devices and a portable Mifi device. The tents were strong, cozy, and warm even in temperatures as low as 8 degrees Celsius. Campsites were well maintained, with permanent kitchens, toilets, and even limited hot baths at some locations.
Communication with Oldbeast Vacations was smooth and responsive throughout, with Mwanne providing detailed guidance before and during the trip. Even four days after the safari ended, they arranged a free transfer from our hotel back to the airport. The team went above and beyond to ensure our journey was safe, comfortable, and unforgettable.
All in all, our safari with Joshua, Hamisi, and the entire Oldbeast Vacations team was a dream come true. We captured countless National Geographic-worthy photos, enjoyed incredible meals, and made memories that will last a lifetime. The attention to detail, warmth, and expertise of everyone involved made this African adventure nothing short of magical.

Luxury, Adventure, and Memories: Our Tanzania Safari
We had an incredible 8-day, 7-night luxury safari in Tanzania, all thanks to Oldbeast Vacations. From the very first inquiry, the experience was seamless. Mwanne responded promptly and professionally, working closely with us to adjust our itinerary until it included everything we dreamed of. We felt completely supported from start to finish.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, we were greeted by Hendry, our driver and guide. Hendry was exceptional. His driving skills were flawless, and his ability to spot wildlife while navigating the roads was remarkable. We saw everything we had imagined and more, including the breathtaking hunting. Seeing lions, elephants, giraffes, and zebras just feet from our jeep felt surreal. Hendry always gave us plenty of time to observe the animals, stopping whenever we wanted, and his patience, expertise, and warmth made our safari experience truly unforgettable. We owe him a huge thank you for turning our adventure into something beyond our expectations.
The luxury tented camps exceeded all expectations. Each was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and staffed with courteous and welcoming teams. Serengeti River Camp in the North Serengeti stood out, especially the talented chef who treated us to some of the most delicious meals of the trip.

Where Adventure Became Emotion: Our Tanzania Experience
Our recent trip to Tanzania was one of the most moving and unforgettable experiences of our lives. There were moments when it felt like we had stepped straight into a nature documentary, and others that felt like floating through a warm, sunlit dream.
We began our journey on safari through Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and the Serengeti, and nothing could have prepared us for the beauty we discovered there. Our guide Joshua was not only incredibly knowledgeable but kind, funny, patient, and someone who made us feel instantly at ease. Every day brought something extraordinary. Elephants appearing beside our vehicle as if quietly acknowledging us, lions and leopards resting in the shade with a calm so powerful it made the world feel still, and endless herds of wildebeest and zebra stretching beyond the horizon. It was pure magic, the kind that stays with you forever.
The lodges felt like little sanctuaries, warm and welcoming with amazing food and the friendliest staff. Evenings by the campfire were surreal. Sitting under skies filled with stars and listening to the sounds of the bush, we often found ourselves speechless, simply absorbing the moment.
After days filled with adventure, we flew to Zanzibar, and arriving there felt like entering another world. The beaches were powder white, the water shimmered with impossible clarity, and the entire island wrapped us in a sense of peace. We swam, snorkeled, wandered through the winding streets of Stone Town, and let the gentle rhythm of the island sink into us.
Tanzania truly stole our hearts. The people, the landscapes, the wildlife, everything surpassed our expectations in the most beautiful way. It was a perfect blend of adventure and serenity, and we returned home feeling deeply inspired and already dreaming about going back.

A Truly Life-Changing Safari with Oldbeast Vacations
I am so deeply grateful that I booked my trip with Oldbeast Vacations. I was traveling alone to Tanzania and felt quite nervous at first, especially because I have type 1 diabetes and specific medical needs. I needed to keep my insulin cold throughout the day and have access to fridges in the lodges.
Mwanne was incredibly proactive and caring. She arranged a cooler with a temperature gauge in the safari vehicle so I could always ensure my insulin stayed cold. She also contacted each lodge in advance to inform them about my dietary restrictions. Thanks to her attention and kindness, I felt completely safe and supported the entire time.
Beyond that, Mwanne was exceptionally kind, responsive, and flexible. I had many questions during the planning process, and she patiently adjusted the itinerary to fit my needs perfectly.
We also had the best and kindest driver, Jolis. He was so much more than just a driver — though he’s an excellent one! He’s an outstanding animal spotter with a great eye for wildlife. We even saw an entire family of lions resting in a tree in Tarangire, and we had the sighting all to ourselves.
Both Mwanne and Jolis radiate such positive energy. They are funny, open, patient, and truly wonderful to be around. Even during full-day game drives, I was never bored for a single moment. While other vehicles were chasing radio calls and crowding around sightings, we relied on instinct and timing — and it paid off. We saw **all** the animals, including around seven serval cats!
One of the most special moments was witnessing a Maasai tradition near the Ngorongoro Crater — a beautiful, rare, and deeply moving experience.
Overall, I truly believe I had the best possible trip. I felt safe, cared for, and incredibly lucky. I will forever be grateful to Mwanne and Jolis for giving me such a meaningful and unforgettable adventure.
