Perfect Tour (for female solo-traveller)
I contacted Wagatil Safaris on very short notice, only three weeks before my departure. Pretty responded immediately and prepared an itinerary for me.
The communication via WhatsApp was very friendly and professional. Pretty kept updating me whenever she found alternative, better hotels or optimized the route. Whenever I had questions, I always received a very quick reply.
I booked a 5-day tour through Rwanda and Uganda including hiking, Golden Monkey trekking, Gorilla trekking, and chimpanzee trekking. At my request, I spent the first day on my own in Kigali and was picked up the following morning by my driver Andrew. As a solo female traveler, I felt very comfortable and safe with him.
Andrew has a very pleasant driving style, is very friendly, and explains a lot about the country and its people. I also found it really sweet that after a few days I learned that Pretty checked in with Andrew every day to make sure I was truly happy with everything.
The individual excursions were perfectly organized. It was breathtaking to see the animals in the wild. The nature is incredibly beautiful and the experiences are truly unique.
It was also very nice to meet Pretty in person during a dinner.
I can recommend Wagatil Safaris 100% and would definitely book with them again.
It was absolutely worth every penny.

The perfect guides in Uganda
From start to finish Wagatil provided our group with amazing service. Before the trip Pretty was super responsive and flexed the itinerary to suit our requests. She was also quick to support any issues during the trip.
Our 12 day trip was well planned and covered many of the most beautiful sites in Uganda. We chose to add some extra days after the trip around Lake Bunyonyi, which provided us with a much needed rest before heading home.
Our guide and driver was Bosco. What a legend this guy was. He had a aura of calm and control, using his extensive experience to make our trip feel seamless. Each amazing encounter we had felt like a little bit of luck combined with the mastery of Bosco's timing, eye, driving and 'string pulling' :). We always felt well taken care of and really appreciated how genuinely Bosco wanted to give us an amazing experience. He even took us to a local hot springs after our hike in the Rwenzori range, which was both relaxing and an awesome opportunity to get off the tourist track and hang out with Ugandans. Bosco was the perfect professional and a great ambassador for Uganda.
The car was in great condition. The pop-out roof meant we had amazing 360 views. We had lots of room inside as well as a fridge to keep fruit and drinks cool.
We will definitely be recommending Wagatil to friends and family.

Wholesome travel experience!
Choosing from all the agencies for Uganda safaris can be a wild ride for itself, but Pretty from Wagatil made everything as easy as it could be: very trustful and immediate communication throughout the process and all according to my requests. Every step was clear at any point. I had the privilege to be guided by George, who was not only knowing und showing me everything about Uganda, its people, its nature and wildlife, its food, etc. but also driving me safely on roads we usually don't see in our countries. He had made every person he talked to smile with a few words only, which gave me as a customer the certainty he would handle any possible disruption in the programme hassle-free - and so he did. Everyone I met during the week showed the utmost interest and effort to maximize and enrich my adventure. Sure the apes and game rides were the obvious once-in-a-lifetime highlights, but just driving around in a secure environment through this beautiful country and meeting the local people was what made this experience complete. The suggested accomodations didn't fell short of that. I am utterly thankful and will keep the memories for a long time.

Professional, caring, and incredibly knowledgeable guides who made Uganda unforgettable.
Wagatil Safaris gave my husband and me one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives.
From the very beginning, the team was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly. Traveling to Uganda for the first time can feel intimidating, with a new culture and so many unknowns, but Wagatil Safaris made us feel completely safe, welcomed, and taken care of at every step.
Pretty, their admin manager, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was kind, patient, and incredibly helpful throughout the planning process, always quick to respond and happy to assist with anything we needed. Her warmth and attention to detail really set the tone for the entire experience.
We were lucky to have two outstanding guides during our trip. Martin guided us through the first part of the journey and Timothy through the second, and both were exceptional. They were extremely knowledgeable and passionate, explaining everything from animal behavior and different bird species to local culture and daily life in Uganda. Every safari felt educational and meaningful, not just visually incredible. They always made sure we knew what to expect, answered all our questions, and checked in regularly to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves.
The experiences themselves were beyond anything we imagined. Chimpanzee tracking, gorilla trekking, and multiple safaris were truly emotional and unforgettable. Seeing wildlife up close in such a respectful way is something we will never forget. Even the safari vehicle added to the experience, making long game drives comfortable and enjoyable.
Overall, Wagatil Safaris is extremely reliable, well organized, and deeply caring. If you are considering Uganda, especially for a first visit, we could not recommend them more highly and would absolutely choose them again.

Uganda Stole Our Hearts — An Unforgettable Journey with Wagatil Safaris.
Our experience with Wagatil Safaris in Uganda was simply exceptional — 5/5 stars, and honestly, we wish we could give more.
From the very beginning, the communication was clear, responsive, and professional. Planning a 13-day trip to a country we had never visited could have felt complicated, but the team made everything straightforward and stress-free. Questions were answered quickly, expectations were set clearly, and the itinerary was well organized from start to finish.
We traveled as a family (my wife, 54; my daughter, 19; and me), and by the time we left Uganda, it genuinely felt like we were saying goodbye to friends we had known for years. Uganda has a way of getting under your skin in the best possible way.
For anyone who loves wildlife and nature, this experience is beyond words. I’ve never enjoyed zoos — seeing animals in captivity has never felt right to me — so witnessing these incredible creatures in their natural habitat was priceless. Nothing compares to standing close enough to a silverback gorilla to hear it breathing, walking near rhinoceroses, or watching vultures circle and finish a carcass. These moments stay with you.
The highlight of the trip, without question, was our guide, Martin. He is deeply knowledgeable and enriched every day with stories and insights about the animals and the land — from lion behavior to migration patterns and local ecosystems. He seems to know everyone (and their cousins) across Uganda, which made a real difference when it came to knowing where to go, what was happening, and where we had the best chances to spot wildlife. His reliability and calm presence made us feel safe and well taken care of at all times.
Partway through the trip, I had a personal matter back home and needed to leave early. Martin handled everything quickly and calmly, coordinating my return to the airport without stress. That level of service and reliability is rare. After spending 10 days traveling with him, I felt completely comfortable leaving my wife to continue the rest of the journey with Wagatil Safaris and Martin — that says a lot about the trust he builds.
The tour itself was incredibly well designed. The pacing, variety of parks, wildlife encounters, and cultural experiences all felt thoughtfully planned. Every day brought something new — from gorillas and lions to river safaris, villages, and breathtaking landscapes.
In terms of value for money, this trip exceeded expectations. The logistics, guiding, accommodations, and overall experience delivered far more than we anticipated. The accommodations were consistently excellent, and the staff at every lodge and hotel were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. There is something very special about the people of Uganda.
I usually plan and manage my own travel and rarely book guided tours, but Uganda is different. Navigating the parks, distances, and wildlife opportunities would have been far more difficult on our own. Having a knowledgeable, reliable guide made everything seamless and allowed us to focus fully on the experience.
This was not just a trip — it was an experience that will stay with our family forever. I wholeheartedly recommend Wagatil Safaris and Martin to anyone considering Uganda.

Dream Safari
Our trip 2-week trip with Wagtail Safaris was nothing short of extraordinary — truly the realization of a dream I had carried for over 20 years: seeing the mountain gorillas in the wild. From the very beginning, the company put together a comprehensive itinerary that exceeded our expectations in every way — incredible places to visit, diverse activities, beautiful and very enjoyable hotels, and, most importantly, unforgettable wildlife encounters across Uganda.
The logistics were absolutely flawless. Every transfer, park entry, and activity ran smoothly and without a hitch, allowing us to fully relax and immerse ourselves in the experience.
Our guide, Martin Asiimwe, was exceptional. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, with a warm, fun personality and seemingly endless patience. He could answer every question we had — from detailed animal behavior to social and political topics about the country — which added tremendous depth to the journey. His driving skills were superb, even on sometimes challenging roads, and his safari jeep was incredibly comfortable. What amazed us most was how spotless it was every morning after we had left it covered in dirt from the previous day’s adventures.
Martin was genuinely committed to making sure each traveler had the best possible experience. Early in the trip, he asked each person for the three animals we most wanted to see — and he kept that in mind throughout the safari, doing everything possible to ensure we each had those special sightings. That level of personal attention made the experience feel truly customized.
All in all, this was the most amazing safari one could dream of — perfectly organized, deeply enriching, and offered at a very reasonable price. I cannot recommend this company and Martin highly enough.
