Friendly, flexible and reliable, with knowledgeable guides who made our first safari straightforward
We did a 4-day safari with Josana Tours covering the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha and had a really good experience.
It was our first time booking a safari, so we weren’t completely sure what to expect. Quite a lot of the organisation was done informally over WhatsApp, which we were a little nervous about at first, but everything worked out absolutely fine. Communication was good, pricing was clear and they made the whole process very straightforward.
They were also really flexible. We decided quite late that we wanted to do a hot air balloon ride in the Masai Mara and they managed to arrange it for us, which ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. They also organised our hotel and airport transfers, which made things much easier.
Charles and Dennis were both excellent guides — friendly, knowledgeable and really keen to make sure we got the most out of the safari. We did have a vehicle breakdown which meant one of our days in Nakuru was cut a bit short, but it was handled efficiently and they went out of their way to make up for the lost time the following day.
We saw pretty much everything we had hoped to see, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, black rhino, elephants and giraffes. The accommodation and food were also both very good throughout.
Overall, we thought it was great value for money and would definitely recommend Josana Tours, particularly if it’s your first safari and you want someone to make the whole process easy and well organised.

We had an amazing experience with the tour company during our trip to Kenya. Everything was very well organised, and our safari was truly unforgettable.
A special thank you to our driver, John, who was absolutely fantastic. He was friendly, professional, patient and very knowledgeable about the wildlife. John always made sure we were comfortable and did his best to give us the best possible safari experience. Thanks to him, we had some incredible wildlife encounters and saw so many amazing animals in their natural habitat.
We really enjoyed every moment of the trip and created so many wonderful memories. We would definitely recommend this company, and especially John, to anyone planning a safari in Kenya!

Amazing!
Josana Tours was absolutely the right choice for us! We went to Kenya and Tanzania on the 10 day trip. They were responsive and helpful when planning the trip in the beginning and once we were there everyone was kind, welcoming, and so helpful. Anytime there was a tiny hiccup our guides would immediately work to help work things out. Both of our guides were great! Our guide in Tanzania, Masunga, was especially knowledgeable and so kind! He brought his knowledge of ecology into the safari and went absolutely above and beyond every step of the way. We genuinely feel that we have made friends for life here and can't wait to return.
The only note I'd leave for people booking is to remember that this is wildlife, not a zoo. We heard other guides dealing with people complaining about not seeing exactly what they wanted, which we felt was very unfair when a guide can't just make certain animals appear or do something on command. My husband and I saw the most incredible animals every single day, but it is something we want to remind people of because it makes the experience that much more relaxing and exciting for everyone. The company and guides are welcoming us guests into their country and protected nature so its just as important to be respectful back ❤️
Overall, I would highly recommend booking with this company!

Unforgettable safaritour with excellent guide seeing and hearing everything you expect from a safari
We had an unforgettable safaritour for 7 days with living legend guide Leroy (Roy). He told everything about the animals an, he answered every question with his knowledge and wisdom. Also we learned a lot about the life and habbits of village people. Even the long ride between the various parks (some were 6 hours) times flew by thanks to all the lovely conversations. He also has great humor. We are very gratefull we had this unforgettable experience with guide Leroy. It was worth every dollar. Everything was very well oeganised, also the company gave correct information, was reliable and answered questions directly. They also stayed in touch with us throughout the entire safari.
