The most wonderful trip to Madagascar, everything went smoothly and our guides were excellent.
The most wonderful trip to Madagascar, everything went smoothly and our guides were excellent. My daughter and I went on a 2 week trip to Madagascar, mainly to see lemurs. From the moment we contacted Soul of Madagascar Theresia was very responsive and helpful. She tailored our tour based on what places and animals we wanted to see. All the hotels were lovely and the guides and drivers all went above and beyond to make it a special and memorable trip. We flew to Tana and drove east to Andasibe and walked through the forest to spot lemurs and chameleons and birds, over a few days. We then flew to Morondava for two days to see Kirindy Forest and the baobab trees which were magical. Finally we flew to Nosy Be for a few days of island hopping to see more lemurs and amazing beaches and lots of snorkelling with turtles. Delicious fish lunches were provided and the hotel on Nosy Be was beautiful. We felt the tour was great value for money. Bring extra money for souvenirs (beautiful baskets and embroidered cloths to buy) and tipping (we ended up having many different guides and drivers and local guides who were all fantastic and so we were happy to tip them all). Theresia advised us to always have a day between flights which turned out to be great advice - the internal flights did get rescheduled quite a bit (by an hour forwards then two hours back for example) and one flight got cancelled and we were moved to a different flight a few hours later, which was fine but would have been risky if we were catching another flight that day. During the tour Theresia and our guides were always happy to help us with checking flight details etc if needed. Overall Madagascar defo exceeded our expectations, we saw so much wildlife and got so close to the animals which was amazing. Our expert guides were Tahiry and his driver Aina, (East Madagascar), Celestin and Sedera in Morondava, Brilin and Idealy back in Tana, Eddy and Doris in Nosy Be and finally we were reunited with Tahiry at the end of our trip. Easy to book with and wonderful to tour with!
Theresia helped us plan our trip making sure that we fit in everything that we wanted and was accommodating when we need changes. She was courteous and timely in all interactions. She suggested a few stops that we hadn't identified and they were just perfect! Our tour guide, Mahefa, was amazing and catered to our requests. He helped maximize our time with the incredible wildlife of Madagascar. Our driver, Idealy, was also fantastic and navigated the roads and the endless trucks like a pro. We had an amazing trip and highly recommend Soul of Madagascar.

Very flexible approach to our trip and time constraints. Wonderful itinerary created for us.
We had limited time in Madagascar and Soul of Madagascar Tours created us a bespoke itinerary which worked perfectly. Our wildlife walks exceeded our expectations and we saw lots of different types of lemur, fossa, chameleon as well as lots of different birds.
Theresia at ‘SofM’ was very supportive whilst we worked through our plans and any details we needed, and her communication was excellent before and during our trip. We had two guides, one in Morondava/Kirindy and the second in Antananarivo/Andasibe and both (Gervo and Brilin) were great company and enthusiastic to share their experiences not only of the animals and wildlife but also Madagascar culture. SofM tours are a very customer focused company and we would highly recommend them.
It’s worth noting that the main ‘highway’ drive from Antananarivo to Andasibe national park is a very unpredictable road, with hundreds of large trucks which frequently break down and fall into the unrepaired holes. This can and does lead to heavy traffic jams and hours spent waiting for the situation to be resolved! It’s worth factoring this in to any travel arrangements when visiting and returning from Andasibe.

Beautifully planned and executed adventure
Theresia planned a wonderful 23 day adventure based on what we told her we were interested in. She booked our hotels and they were comfortable. Our driver Rivo was a wonderful driver in difficult conditions (lots of off road and terrible roads) and always felt safe. Erik our guide was knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure everything went smoothly. Both were fun and easy to be with. I feel the cost was a good value.

Wouldn’t hesitate to book again!
We had a wonderful experience with Soul of Madagascar. I was in contact with Theresia over many months after needing to amend our travel dates and she was always extremely helpful and quick to respond.
In Madagascar our guide was Antonio and our driver was Amby. They were both enthusiastic and took care of everything so we were able to relax. We felt very safe in their capable hands.
Our trip was short but we packed in so much. We were primarily interested in seeing lemurs and were lucky enough to see 10 species in just a few days. We stayed in Manjarano Lodge which I would highly recommend.
I hope to visit more of Madagascar in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to book with Soul of Madagascar.

Unforgettable experience!
The guides made the trip even better.
Gervo, our guide in the west, was extremely knowledgeable and really brought the Tsingy and baobabs to life. Joushia, who guided us in Tana and the east, was warm, friendly and simply excellent. Eddy in Nosy Be also looked after us well and showed us all the cool spots of the islands. The food was good throughout, and the accommodations were well chosen and comfortable everywhere we stayed.
Every transfer and connection ran smoothly, and communication was quick and clear. We'd recommend "Soul of Madagascar" team without hesitation to anyone dreaming of exploring Madagascar.

We had an amazing experience with Soul of Madagascar Tours and are very grateful for the wonderful trip they organized for us.
From the very beginning, the communication was excellent. Everything was handled in a very professional, friendly and personal way, and we always felt that we were in good hands. The team was very flexible and understanding, especially when we had to make some spontaneous changes to our itinerary.
Throughout the trip, we had wonderful experiences with our drivers and local guides. Everyone was kind, reliable and knowledgeable, and we received lots of interesting information about the places, nature and culture we visited. The guides in particular really made an effort to make each experience special and memorable.
Although we unfortunately had to change our plans for Tsingy, this did not take away from the many amazing experiences we had throughout Madagascar. The country is absolutely incredible, and having such a friendly and dedicated team supporting us along the way made the journey even more enjoyable.
Overall, we are very happy with our trip and would absolutely recommend Soul of Madagascar Tours to anyone planning a trip to Madagascar. We felt very comfortable and well taken care of throughout the entire journey.

Above expectations professionalism
We partnered with Soul of Madagascar for 22 days of adventure across the country with our family of four. A contact who had previously travelled with them and had a great experience recommended them to us, and we are incredibly grateful that he did.
Despite the challenges involved in coordinating and managing the logistics—especially because we wanted to visit non-touristic locations, or at least places that were less crowded—everything went incredibly smoothly. The whole team went above and beyond to support our needs and accommodate our wishes, helping us create a truly remarkable trip full of experiences and memories that will stay with us forever.
From the initial months of planning, defining the itinerary, and discussing our preferences and their recommendations, or dealing with flight changes till right through to the very last minute and our farewell at the airport, they were always there for us.
Theresia, Joushia, and the rest of the guides and drivers are amazing professionals, with a wealth of experience in the national parks, wildlife, food, routes, and local destinations. Most importantly, they always put our safety and wellbeing first, which gave us complete peace of mind throughout the trip.
We were particularly touched by some of the gestures that went far beyond what we expected. Theresia, the manager, once flew to the airport during a connecting flight from her hometown just to say hello and give us some presents. What an incredible gesture! And then there was the evening when Joushia and his colleague brought their guitars and improvised a concert while our teenage daughters sang along around a campfire, under an amazing sky full of stars. Those moments, among dozens of others, will stay with us forever.
I cannot recommend Soul of Madagascar highly enough. Thank you so much to the entire team for everything you did for us and for helping make this journey such an unforgettable experience.

Reliable Madagascar-based tour operator with excellent service and communication.
We booked a 20-day - Discovery East - West-South tour with Soul of Madagascar and travelled with our 8 years old son. The communication with Theresia was seamless, she made sure the itinary was personalized according to our needs. Our guides were Michael and Tahiry and our driver Manoa, they were all well-prepared and knowledgeable and made our trip unforgettable. They even made sure I had a birthday cake on my big day :). I would be happy to travel with them again, we had the perfect trip!

Great communications
We had very good driver Rivo and also Eric our guide was very good. Both of them spoke perfectly English they make sure all our need are taking care off. Theresia almost was communicated with us almost instantly. The accommodation was very nice. We would highly recommend this company
