PASSIONATE ABOUT ETHIOPIA
If you are curious about Ethiopia and consider exploring this marvelous land in depth, I strongly recommend relying on Arre Tours.
Since many highlights of this unique country are located in the North of Ethiopia, Arre Tours has the advantage of its location in Axum, so they DO know what it is actually going on in Tigray, Amhara, Afar, etc. This is essential when visiting Ethiopia.
We began in Addis Ababa, then travel Northwards for 17 days.
Everything was well planned and executed and communication by phone with Arre Tours was fluid. Solomon was always ready to assist and double-checking that things were working fine day by day.
This is called "attention to detail" and in larger travel agencies you will not get this type of service; furthermore, some tour operators may not know first-hand what they are talking about.
With Arre Tours you are in the hands of people who take each client seriously and listen to you and your needs before you arrive in Ethiopia and while there. Bravo!
Guides were excellent throughout, particularly Mr Hagos in Gondar (passionate and such a great communicator) and Simret in Axum (the female Ethiopian perspective of things is a bonus for the traveller).
But also in Bahir Dar, Addis, Lalibela, and Arre himself all around Tigray.
All the excursions went well, with good timings and adapted to our needs (should we required a change of schedule, etc).
A note of warning on Danakil Depression: read carefully all that it may entail and whether this may be for you or not.
The weather may become truly unbearable and sleeping conditions are very basic, which might lead to not appreciate sights that much.
Hotels were really good too (especially “Atranos Fantasy” in Axum, “Best Western Plus” in Addis and the incredible “Gheralta Lodge”!).
Clean, nice rooms all in all. Breakfasts quality vary depending on the property. Really good locations chosen by Arre Tours.
Local transportation always spot on time, mineral water on board and careful drivers.
Meals were ok, but this is hit-and-miss in Ethiopia: some lunches were very basic and some hotel restaurants were not too good.
Arre Tours may put more focus into this.
My experience with Arre Tours was superb; I loved Ethiopia, its people, its sights. Meskel celebration was a terrific touching experience.
Arre and Solomon are passionate, friendly and they do a professional job. I would come back without doubts.

I went to the lifelong dreamed of destination of Tigray in January, 2026. During my trip I went from beautiful Axum to the famous church in the Sky, Abuna Yemata. Our transportation was smooth, and the (many) pictures taken were fantastic. I was treated with respect and had a great time.
For sure would book with Arre Tours again!

The Guide Who Saved My Trip
I had the absolute trip of a lifetime with Arre Tours. I initially had booked with another tour guide but they were such a disappointment, and I'm so relieved I canceled with them and booked with Arre instead!
Arre is a guide like no other. His love for life and adventure is contagious. He's punctual, professional, and he's passionate about what he does and giving guests the absolute best experience possible. Over the course of two days, we visited key sights in Axum like Stelae Park, St. Mary of Zion Church, King Ezana's Tomb, and saw breathtaking landscapes. Nothing felt rushed or performative. He also included extra experiences beyond the itinerary, and those became some of the most enjoyable parts of my time in Axum.
What impressed me most was the level of care he brought to the experience. Arre consistently looked out for me, made sure my needs were met, and did so naturally and without any fuss. He had a way with people that put you instantly at ease, and it was obvious from the start that his real priority was making sure I truly enjoyed my time — and that, I certainly did!
I’m already planning another trip to Ethiopia, and the fact that I intend to book Arre Tours again says everything. Next time, I hope to book with him for other places I’m dying to see, like the Danakil Depression, the Tigray churches, and Gondar.
Arre is the real deal, and I'd recommend him to anyone without a second thought.
Amazing experience
I had an amazing experience with this tour company in Ethiopia. I first booked a tour of Addis Ababa for myself as a solo traveler, and I felt so safe, comfortable, and well taken care of that I decided to book the same company for my parents as well.
During my time in Addis Ababa, I visited all the main highlights, including the National Museum, Entoto Park, and a wonderful traditional Ethiopian restaurant. The restaurant was a fantastic cultural experience, with live music, singing, and traditional dancing representing different regions and cultures from all over Ethiopia.
I also had the opportunity to take a two-day trip to Wenchi Lake, which was absolutely beautiful and one of the highlights of my trip. The organization was excellent, and I always felt supported and safe throughout the journey.
What I appreciated most was the personalized and thoughtful service. When I needed to go to the immigration office to complete all the necessary paperwork for my passport, they even accompanied me and helped me through the process. This was incredibly helpful and reassuring.
Because my parents don’t speak English, the team also went the extra mile to arrange an Italian-speaking guide for them. This made their experience much easier and more enjoyable, and it gave me great peace of mind knowing they were in good hands.
The guides were professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I highly recommend this tour company to anyone visiting Ethiopia, especially solo travelers or families. They made me feel safe, welcomed, and able to fully enjoy the beauty and culture of Ethiopia. A truly wonderful experience from start to finish!

Last year, I spent 17 unforgettable days in Ethiopia with Arre Tours, and I can honestly say that I have nothing but praise and the highest recommendation for this agency and its owner.

And that is exactly what makes Arre Tours so special. It wasn't just about seeing the famous sights. He wanted us to truly experience Ethiopia — its history, culture, traditions, landscapes, spirituality, and people.

Amazing tour and best dedication of the guide
I had tour for two weeks in Ethiopia. Solomon and his guys took best care of us all the way. Went extra miles for our comfort and make sure we don't miss anything. Even organized extra tours when possible. Felt very secure and relaxed when in their care.

Great organization and personal care
We did a 23-day tour in Ethiopia with Arre and Solomon from Arre Tours.
The plan was wonderful.
It included:
- the Danakil Depression
- the Geralta churches
- the Simian Mountains
- the Omo Valley
Everything was as planned and even better than expected. They were very flexible and even made some changes on the way that improved on the original itinerary.
I highly recommend Arre tours for planning and executing a wonderful vacation in Ethiopia.
