An Excellent Safari Experience – Highly Recommended
We had an excellent safari experience with African Hagyko Safaris, and we were extremely satisfied with the entire trip from the planning stage to the very end of the safari.
First of all, Bernard was outstanding throughout the whole process. His responses were always very quick, polite, and professional. We had quite a few requests and questions before the trip, including changes to the accommodation and itinerary, and he always listened carefully and did his best to accommodate our preferences. He handled everything efficiently and moved things forward very quickly, which made us feel that we were in reliable and capable hands. We really appreciated his flexibility and professionalism.
Our driver-guide, Wachira, was also fantastic. He has extensive knowledge of wildlife and explained the animals and their behavior clearly, often adding some humor and jokes that made the game drives even more enjoyable. Whenever we had questions, he took the time to answer them thoroughly.
What impressed us particularly was his ability to find the best possible position for wildlife viewing. Whenever something interesting was happening, he reacted quickly and positioned the vehicle extremely well, giving us some amazing views and photo opportunities. He can also speak a little Japanese, which was a nice surprise and may be especially reassuring for Japanese travelers.
The accommodations were also excellent. We were very happy with all of the properties we stayed at. Mosquito protection was well arranged at each accommodation, which made us feel comfortable and secure, and the food was consistently delicious.
And, of course, the wildlife experience itself was incredible. We were able to see the Big Five, as well as many other animals including crocodiles, hippos, giraffes, and many more.
Unfortunately, we did not get to see a successful hunt from beginning to end, but we did witness predators chasing their prey and also saw animals feeding after a hunt. These were still fascinating and unforgettable experiences. Overall, we saw far more wildlife than we had expected and had many memorable encounters.
In terms of price, their quotation was higher than some of the other safari companies we considered. However, after experiencing the safari ourselves, we felt that the quality and value we received actually exceeded the price we paid. The excellent coordination, knowledgeable and skilled guide, comfortable accommodations, private safari experience, and attention to our individual requests made the trip exceptionally worthwhile. Looking back, we are extremely satisfied with our decision to choose African Hagyko Safaris.
We would definitely love to come back to Kenya and go on safari with them again.

From the moment we decided we wanted to go on safari, my wife started looking she kept going back to African Hagyko and it was a fabulous choice. We started planning a year in advance Bernard answered every question very quickly. He helped with everything from booking our accommodation before the safari and planning our first day to introduce us to Kenyan before the safari began.
Our guide Harrison was very knowledgeable on everything from the animals to Kenyan culture, which I enjoyed immensely. With his many years of experience we were able to see the big five and so much more. I was especially thankful to Bernard and Harrison for taking complete care of us the entire time. They gave me a new nickname of Topi because I took lots of naps, we had so much fun can’t wait to do it again. Thank you for such an amazing experience

Our safari with African Hagyko was by far the best experience I have ever had with any tour company. I started planning over a year in advance. All my questions and concerns we answered extremely promptly by Bernard. He completely put me at ease, nothing was too much trouble he helped organize our two days before the safari started, sent lists of things to bring, kept me informed with everything I needed to know. Nothing is too much trouble for him.He gave me the time I needed to make my decision. He truly is a big asset to the company. Without his care and understanding I would not have booked but I didn’t need to worry. My faith in him was truly realized when we I met him at the airport with sign with our names on it. He greeted us with gifts and the warmest of welcome to Kenya.He is the most caring and polite human being and went out of his way to make sure our trip was the best possible experience. When the Safari began our guide Harrison, who I requested after reading many other positive reviews, he did not disappoint either. From his ability to navigate Kenyan roads and knowing our safety was his number one concern to his extensive knowledge of animals and their behaviour, Kenyan culture and the environment was truly mind blowing. I cannot recommend him enough. If you want in my opinion the number one guide and the number one travel experience book with African Hagyko, Bernard and Harrison you will not be disappointed. We were able to see the big five and many more that we didn’t even know before this trip. My Knowledge has increased and I’m hoping to learn even more on my next visit.
When our flights were cancelled they both made sure we were taken care of, from the booking of the hotel to getting us to the airport. No other company that I have dealt with has gone to such lengths to ensure that our experience was the best it could be. I can’t wait to come back and bring my family and friends.

David is warm-hearted, enthusiastic, sociable, knowledgable, and above all, trustworthy and honest.
David is the best tour guide I’ve ever had. He is extremely knowledgable and will have a good answer for any question you ask. He has been a tour driver for 15+ years, so he can tell you history and details about the city that a less-experienced driver might not know about. For your safari at Nairobi National Park, he will do a great job at pointing out distant or hidden animals due to his familiarity with the animals’ living habits and his astute eye. David is friendly and amiable, and every interaction you have with him is sure to be pleasant. However, the best part about touring with David is how passionately he looks out for his clients. He will inform you of what prices are reasonable for shopping and services so you won’t be taken advantage of by vendors who grossly overcharge. David genuinely cares for his clients’ wellbeing, happiness, and safety, and he will take care of you like you are family. I am truly impressed with David as both a tour guide and a good, stand-up person. You will not regret booking with David.

Wow what an experience! Everything ran very smoothly in terms of communication and pick-ups, and our tour operator Bernard was knowledgeable and good company. We were also so impressed by the quality of accommodations, they were so much more luxe than we were expecting! And great food!! Overall we were so happy with our choice of operator, and would re-book with them for sure if we were fortunate enough to come back.

James has so much knowledge! Our group had lots of questions ranging from birds to plants to animals and even Swahili. James answered all of our questions with grace and ease! I know that I have learned so much! He was a big highlight of the whole experience! He is an excellent driver when in comes to rough terrain! Professional, experienced, and personal guide through Kenyan culture and wildlife.
James and Harrison were our drivers for our 10 day journey through the mountain dirt roads of Eburru, the busy and challenging highways across the Great Rift Valley, the city streets of Nairobi and the safari adventures in Nakuru. They were highly knowledgeable of every animal, every question about culture. They were able to answer clearly with an understandable accent, and good English. They had fun personalities and it was easy to talk to them about just about anything. They were always reliable and on time. When I was sick and needed medical attention they immediately went out of their way to get me to the right pharmacy. We will definitely use them again!
