My tour operator was absolutely amazing, incredibly professional, friendly, and helpful.
We had the most amazing one-week safari experience in Uganda with Abantubo Safaris! Everything was well organised from start to finish, and the communication and service were excellent. We could simply relax and enjoy every moment, knowing that everything was taken care of.
Our guide, Deus, was absolutely the best! He was so friendly, funny, flexible, and knowledgeable, and we had so much fun together throughout the trip. He drove very safely, spoke excellent English, and always made sure we felt comfortable and had the best possible experience. He truly made our trip extra special. Nickson was also incredibly kind and helpful, and we really appreciated all his support.
Uganda is such an incredible country, and our trip was filled with unforgettable experiences and amazing highlights. Gorilla trekking was definitely the absolute highlight of our trip — an experience we will never forget!
We felt that everything was reliable, well organised, and great value for money. We never had to worry about the logistics and could just enjoy the beautiful landscapes, wildlife, and all the amazing experiences Uganda has to offer.

A caring company that makes you feel like family
We had seven absolutely amazing days in Uganda with Abantubo Safaris, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Everything was made extra special by our incredible guide, Deus. He was so funny, knowledgeable and passionate about his country, making every single day an adventure filled with laughter, learning and unforgettable memories. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience!

Great Gorilla/Golden Monkeys Safari
I have booked with Abantubo for a 3 days safari to see the Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi/Uganda and the Golden Monkeys in Vulcanoes NP/Rwanda.
Experience was top notch for transportation, food and accommodation. Adams the guide went did the extra mile to help with my requests.

The best tour I have ever done
I have travelled all over the world and this was the best tour I have ever been on. Jimmy was the best, anything I could think of he was like I know someone for that. The amount of wildlife and activities I did was next level. I’ll list off what I did in 7 days. Gorillas, pangolins, chimpanzees, rhinos, fishing for Nile perch, day/night hikes, day/night game drives, and so much more. I will be coming back here some day and will 100% request jimmy again!

We had a truly memorable safari with Abantubo
My adult daughter & I travelled through Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda on our 15 day Safari. We saw the most amazing landscapes and animals. Gorillas passed in front of us while we were trekking for golden monkeys, we saw a week old elephant baby surrounded by its mum and aunties, we saw three leopards and, amazingly, lions mating and so many more thrilling experiences We were exceptionally fortunate that our guides, William & Deus, were experienced, had a wealth of knowledge, were personable, helpful and knew the best way to find animals- close enough but safely. They gave us lots of fascinating information about their habitats, reproduction numbers and threats. We learnt so many new names. We actually can’t remember them all but it was just wonderful to see all the animals and birds. We opted for mid-range accommodation and it was more than comfortable & adequate, the food was delicious and plentiful. In some cases it was all really exceptional. The staff at the lodges were always helpful and friendly.
We had some hiccups with our plans (either airline or my issues!) Abantubo & our guides helped to organise us out of these situations. We appreciated the support on the road as Westerners travelling in a very new & different land.
It was just the best holiday with so many memories and unique experiences. 15 days was a good period of time, though we missed Africa in our guides when we had to leave. I highly recommend a Safari with a Abantubo.

Wonderful trip
Some initial communication hitches with head office but our guide Samuel was lovely, knowledgeable and very professional. He strived to ensure we had a smooth trip, nothing was too much trouble. The activities were incredible. We had a wonderful time.

Our special thanks go to Jimmy, our driver and guide, who looked after us brilliantly throughout the entire trip. His driving was excellent — no small achievement on some of Uganda’s more adventurous roads — and his wildlife-spotting skills were exceptional. He went out of his way to make sure we saw the species we were most excited about.
Jimmy was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. For seven days, he was our driver, guide, wildlife expert and general keeper of two very happy tourists!
Every day incredible wildlife encounters brought something memorable. We had an amazing experience from beginning to end and would wholeheartedly recommend Abantubo Safaris to anyone planning a safari in Uganda. 10-Day Adventure in Rwanda and the Pearl of Africa

From the moment I arrived at Kigali Airport, everything was very well organised. My tour guide, Deus, contacted me via WhatsApp before my arrival and was waiting for me at the airport. Once we were on the road, he gave me a clear overview of the itinerary and explained what to expect each day. Every morning, he also provided a detailed briefing about the day's activities.
As I was travelling on my own, Deus became much more than just my guide and driver. He was also a great companion and friend throughout my holiday. His friendly attitude, knowledge, flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile made a big difference to my experience.
Accommodation
Overall, the accommodation selected for my trip exceeded my expectations, with each property offering something different and memorable.
Garden Palace Hotel – A comfortable start to the trip, and the best mocha I had during my holiday!
Gorilla Mist Camp – A fantastic mountain atmosphere and the perfect place to get into the adventurous spirit before gorilla trekking. The fireplace was a particularly nice touch.
Bunyonyi Overland Resort – A beautiful location right on the lake, with easy access to Lake Bunyonyi and its activities.
Tabingi Safari Lodge – A very special experience, especially seeing elephants walking right in front of my lodge.
Bweza Kibale Lodge – Another highlight, particularly if you get one of the front-line rooms. The floor-to-ceiling windows provide fantastic views, and the terrace is a wonderful place to relax.
Red Chilli Rest Camp – This was the only accommodation that I didn't particularly enjoy. However, I completely understand that it was selected to meet my overall holiday budget, so I would not consider this a reflection of the organisation of the trip.
Ziwa Rhino & Wildlife Ranch – This place was a real treat and, if I had the opportunity, I would happily have stayed an extra day. Animals roam freely around the property, and I even had two rhinos resting approximately 10 metres from my room door early one morning! There is also a swimming pool available for an additional fee.
Food
The food throughout the trip was very good, and the portions were often extremely generous — sometimes more than I could finish!
One unexpected highlight was a visit to a banana beer factory near Kibale National Park. I would definitely recommend adding this experience to your itinerary if possible. You can taste banana juice, banana beer and gin, as well as purchase T-shirts and hoodies. The owner, Mr Banana Man, was incredibly entertaining and passionate, and his personality made the visit particularly memorable.
A big thank you to Deus for arranging this extra experience for me. It was a great addition to the trip.
Safari Experiences
The itinerary included plenty of game drives and safari experiences, giving me enough time to enjoy the national parks without ever feeling rushed. I really appreciated the pace of the trip, as there was sufficient time to take in the surroundings and enjoy each experience.
One of the highlights was the night safari, which was a completely new experience for me. I was lucky enough to see a lion during the drive, making it one of the most memorable moments of the entire holiday.
Overall Experience
This was not my first visit to Africa or my first safari experience, so I had fairly high expectations before travelling. Abantu Safaris exceeded those expectations.
The organisation, itinerary, accommodation choices, safari experiences and, most importantly, the personal service from Deus all contributed to an amazing holiday.
Travelling solo can sometimes feel a little daunting, but I always felt well looked after and comfortable. Deus was knowledgeable, reliable, friendly and genuinely interested in making sure I enjoyed every part of the journey.
I would truly recommend Abantu Safaris to anyone considering a safari in Rwanda and Uganda. Whether this is your first African adventure or you are already an experienced safari traveller, I believe they can create a memorable and well-organised trip.

An Amazing 5-Day Safari Experience
We had an amazing five-day safari with Abantubo Safaris and truly enjoyed every part of the experience. Everything was very well organised, from the transportation and communication to the accommodation. The lodges and camps we stayed in were beautiful and comfortable, and the whole trip felt smooth and stress-free. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and always made sure we had a great experience.
